A truly authentic Balinese homestay experience. Ketut, his family, and Putu are incredibly kind and attentive — they make you feel part of the village. I even extended my stay because I felt so connected here. The grounds are beautiful and well-kept, the rooms spacious and clean (with a mini fridge), and the Wi-Fi worked well for my admin tasks. When my shower broke it was fixed immediately. Laundry is also available, which was very convenient. Highlights of my stay included joining a local ceremony, visiting the school to share English with the children, a fun day trip to Gembleng Waterfall, Lahangan Sweet, and Tirta Gangga Water Palace, and even celebrating Ketut’s birthday with the family — unforgettable moments that brought everyone together. The location is inland, more jungle so expect to hear the animals and birds.. there is a warung and small shop right next door, and a supermarket and vegetable store within walking distance (although thank you Putu for the moped ride!). This is not a tourist destination. Transport in the village is limited, but Ketut does everything possible to arrange what you need and help you get around. Ketut Carman loves sharing his culture and experiences. The value for money here far exceeded my expectations for the experience I received. The only small note: the property can be a little tricky to find, so I recommend checking in during daylight hours. I left with a profound connection to this village and way of life

I had an amazing time at D sari wooden house. They also have homestay in which i stayed 2.5 years ago. They built a new wooden house in their yard in which i stayed this time. It’s cozy and is truly beautiful. If you’re looking for an authentic experience with the most charming family, do not look further. Keep in mind that you’ll be living close to the jungle where you can find bugs, mosquitos, geckos, roost, etc. but that’s the truly beauty of experiencing the balinese life. If you’re looking for a bit more of comfort in the middle of the jungle, please look up their new villas : The Dedari : eco and wellness retreat.
