I recently stayed at this hotel and everything was overall great. The service was smooth, the staff were friendly, and the atmosphere was very comfortable. I also want to mention that two girls from the reception Ade and Dewi helped us a lot during our stay especially when we had a last-minute issue. They handled it quickly and professionally, which we really appreciated.

Amazing experience to have a whole private island for ourselves! The space is so unique and beautiful so me and my girlfriend extended our stay. The staff was very helpful and a great breakfast. Don't miss to swim in the natural pool in the river. This hotel is new but it will become very popular soon we are sure. 10 out of 10!!

We had a wonderful stay here at Papahan Bali. Very nice staff, the rooms are very clean. The place was so peaceful and quiet, lots of mountain views. There are also lots of restaurants, spa around the area. The staffs are well mannered and always smiling. We will definitely go back! ❤️

There is a kitchenette and I made my own breakfasts--oatmeal and lots of fruit. What I liked best was the huge balcony on the second floor, which faces Agung. That's where I spent most of my time when I wasn't out walking the rice fields.

Great place to relax. Sunrise at Mount Batur is a must do! Follow it up with a dip at the natural hot springs. You can rent a scooter or call for a taxi to move around. Grab is not popular here as they prefer promoting locals for business.

Sidemen is an area located in northern Bali that’s closer to the historic temples than other places. (Still, the trip can sometimes take up to an hour.) It’s a lovely place to relax, thanks to its natural beauty and tranquility. It’s near Besakih Temple, and other sites are also within a relatively accessible distance. Note: In this area, I recommend renting a car with a driver for the day instead of using Grab or Gojek, as taxis often refuse to provide service at the app’s listed price, claiming they won’t be able to find another customer on the return trip.

A very beautiful part of Bali where farmers work the rice fields and you can see the most breathtaking views of the mountains and valleys. Don't drive here if you can avoid it. A local driver is affordable, knows the roads and all the best stopping points.

The sideman valley is gorgeous. Super lovely prople. Good accomodation and eating options. No real shopping places of any quality. Town , like slot of places, difficult to leisurely walk around as no footpaths, hot, scooters snd cars. The amount of rubbish everywhere is unpleasant and confronting.

Sidemen is a hidden gem at the base of Mount Agung.

Sidemen is a hidden gem at the base of Mount Agung. It is much like Ubud was 40 years ago. I it a beautiful, peaceful location in the rice terraces that i. s (not yet) overrun with tourists. There are a few nice little shops and a weaving center. We especially enjoyed Kolektif & Co and the Ayu Lotus Jewelry. The sales staff were very friendly and helpful. In addition to a tremendous selection of jewelry , Ayu Lotus has an excellent selection of fabrics. We had coffee at the Citrus and Vine coffee shop which had excellent coffee and delicious cakes and pastries. We had a very special lunch at the Sahaja Restaurant on a deck overlooking the valley rice terraces. The food was delicious! The ginger soy barramundi was very moist and delicately flavored. The LemonGrass Chicken was as also delicious.

The newer bungalows were wonderful and situated with an extraordinary view of the valley and rice terraces, among some lovely gardens. The host family were so kind and helpful. I will recommend Sideman Valley and Lumbung Itan to anyone looking for a peaceful escape in NE Bali.

AMAZING! Favourite place I’ve stayed in Bali. The most kind people ever, helped us out booking taxis and different activities, constantly asking if we needed anything and even invited us to have a drink with them and there family. The room was fantastic, air con was so good and the shower and bed were perfect as well. The amazing breakfast in the morning that gets brought to your door was unreal. Sidemen was also probably the most beautiful places I’ve ever been to. Could not recommend more!

Big quiet room with comfy bed and good wifi air-conditioning and fridge. Great chill vibe overall. Lovely view of gardens and koi pond. Lovely pool with awesome view. The staff were amazing. Let me know that I could get to nusa penida from Kusamba without going to sanur and gave me a transfer from the hotel. Great location, there are maybe 20 restos in walking distance, also close to town and attractions like silver workshops and waterfalls. I just loved my time in sidemen.

The most amazing view of the rice fields! Lovely guesthouse with really kind hosts. Do not be put off by the guesthouse title though, the rooms are excellent, had the only consistent hot water showers of our whole trip and the restaurant/food they cook was incredible with the ingredients grown in the garden. Would highly recommend staying here while in sidemen, location is excellent to all local facilities and can trek the rice fields directly from the hotel.

Especially the a la carte breakfast :-) Great location to explore Sidemen and hike the Rice Terrace. Nice coffee places and great warungs just next to the hotel and along the road to Sidemen centre.
