The house and gardens overall were beautiful, the bathroom and balcony large, and great views of the valley and Gran Sasso mountains. Room was comfortable and had all we needed. Quiet and restful stay, nice breakfast, and the host and staff were so friendly.

The property was clean, modern and well put together and comfortable. The breakfast was amazing with homemade cake by the host’s mother. This was a bargain of a stay for a nice facility. And the host was incredible!!! So Andrea, the Host, the most generous, genuinely nicest person I’ve ever met! He bent over backwards to help us with anything we needed! (Even older American tourists who need lots of help, hahaha!) He worked tirelessly from morning to evening and still was the most pleasant person you could possibly have for a host! My husband and I would go back just to see Andrea again! 😁 we wish you many blessings for a happy and prosperous future Andrea! (Tell your mom the dairy and gluten free cake was delicious!) Cheers to you and your family! Joanne and Rod PS His WhatsApp image is the most creative that I’ve seen in a long time…fun and genius! But you will have to stay at Le Mirage to receive the privilege of seeing this! 😄

It was a great location and rooms were very nice. You could see the place had a lot of good care. The windows were updated for insulation and sound. The only dis appointing item was the plaza out side the entrance was under construction for an underground parking garage. It should look great when finished. Old pictures of the plaza was an asset to the accommodations.

Chieti is an ancient city going back 9000 years.

Chieti is an ancient city going back 9000 years. The Greeks and Roman developed the city calling it Teate. The center has the quaint narrow streets and old buildings which give the city its charm. Chieti is a small city where you can escape the massive hordes of tourists you find in Florence and Venice. However the city allows you to have a real Italian experience. Rome is only a two hour drive away. There is the natural aspect Chieti. The Gran Sasso are enormous mountains. There are forests and hiking trails. The Abbruzzese are some of the friendliest Italians in Italy. Fifteen minutes away is the Metropolitan city of Pescara and the Adriatic Sea. Chieti does have many things to offer in a unique and prime location.

A nice town (speaking only of the historic center) with a few museums, ethnological sites, good food with extremely reasonable prices (compared to Rome). The people are nice, friendly, very limited tourists, asians to be seen. In the center, most restaurants offer meat/pasta...You'd have to go outside of the center to find well reviewed/rated fish restaurants and to get to Trabocco, it takes about an hour by car. I travelled alone and on foot so it wasn't easy to get to Trabocco nor did I want to pay for 1hr ride. There are many great restaurants in the center with great prices and offering huge servings (Casamoro - highly recommend). The town is easily accessible by train or bus from Rome. Due to the elevation, it may affect your skin. All in all, it's very peaceful, quiet, and great value for money.

Chieti is split into 2 towns - the "bottom" town where the train comes in. There is nothing to see here other than a main, noisy street with take-away pizza restaurants - hardly anything was open and it felt like a ghost town. Then there is "Chieti Historic Centre" up a very steep hill about 4kms away (good luck with the bus timetable - a lottery!). Cute little place where all but one restaurant was closed and most of the shops were closed. Nice (small) church in a lovely square, which was deserted and only had one bar/cafe. Main street runs from one end to the other - deserted during the daytime and barely alive at night! We found a nice park with a lovely restaurant (which was closed on Mondays). Honestly - there is NOTHING to see or do in Chieti unless you want to sit in the same bar all day (only bars and cafes or DREADFUL pizzerias were open), eating ice cream or drinking coffee. Don't waste your time visiting.

Chieti is a lovely, peaceful town high above the valley.

Chieti is a lovely, peaceful town high above the valley. Perfect for a stopover for a couple of days. We discovered some excellent restaurants, serving both meat and pasta options. The town has a large park for walking and relaxing in and a museum.

Chieti (and Abruzzo as a whole) feel like undiscovered gems...

Chieti (and Abruzzo as a whole) feel like undiscovered gems in Italy. The old town is large and interesting, the main Piazza del Duomo is being worked on and will look amazing when done, the food is absolutely to die for and half the price relative to standard Northern Italian tourist areas. It was a stopover for us on a drive to Puglia, but we are already thinking about when we can return.

The fabulous position with the safe big parking, lovely place and close to shops for anything you may need and with kids you always will need something and the stuff help was gigantic for advices where to go or not and the explanation of the reasons .

It was very central to Chieti (alto) but that's not hard as it's a 2-street town! Bed was comfortable. "Breakfast" was some yoghurts in the fridge, some jam, cookies and long-life jammy/sweet croissants. Butter, crackers and milk was provided, plus some tea bags and coffee pods (not enough). There was an ice cream shop (Gelaterria) a few doors down - which was great as nothing else was open except for take away pizzas!!

The hotel is situated on a main street, very close to the train station but, meantime, very silent and peaceful. Nice room, small but with all the comforts. Very new and clean bathroom with a shower (I adored the glass doors). The breakfast was amazing, there was plenty of choice of both sweet and savory food, and I really appreciated the bar-like cappuccino and coffee they make at the moment. Nice and cosy staff.

The property is calm, the surrounding is relaxing and the location is great for a couple seeking a quiet place with close proximity to historical sites (in Chieti etc), sea, wineries, farms etc. The hosts are caring and very nice.
