The room was very comfortable modern and the bed was very very comfortable. We slept like babies. The location was great and the town was a good base to explore Abruzzo.

We really enjoyed our stay at La maison de Martine. Daniel was a wonderful host—friendly, welcoming, and full of helpful suggestions for places to visit nearby. The breakfast was really good and our room was very comfortable. We especially enjoyed the beautiful view from the balcony. The town itself is incredibly charming, with a peaceful atmosphere and beautiful art pieces displayed throughout, which made walking around a real pleasure.It’s an ideal base for exploring Abruzzo, and we’d definitely come back again.

Andreina, my host, was exceptionally helpful and kind. I traveled by train to a nearby town and had planned to use a taxi service to get to La Casetta (according to Rome2Rio, there were multiple available taxi services in the area). When I got there, there were in fact 0 taxi services, and I was stranded at the train station without cell service. My mom was able to email the B&B and ask for ideas, and Andreina just replied that she would come pick me up. She saved me from a two hour walk up the mountain! Then when I left, she dropped me off at the train station. In Bolognano proper, there aren't restaurants or grocery stores, and, not having a car, I couldn't get to one easily- so on our way to the B&B, she took me to the store! Don't expect this service- but know she is a very gracious host. During my stay she was very friendly, and always willing to have a conversation with me (even though my Italian skills are lacking). The B&B itself was very nice- a beautiful courtyard, a lovely kitchen, and a very comfortable bedroom. I enjoyed my stay there immensely.

The home is bellisimo (!) and the setting of Tocco, and the view we had of the village, valley, and mountains from our room were also incredible! Homemade olive oil and locally made bread for breakfast, plus great recommendations for sourcing local food and wine rounded out our first small-town experience in Italy :).
