This location is perfect for exploring Gissi and all the surrounding communities. There is a lot to see and do nearby, but none of the other small towns have as much to offer in terms of dining and gathering as Gissi. I recommend staying here. The rooms are great; there is a larger mini-suite with a washer for long-term stays. The property is just behind the main street, a 1-minute walk, but quiet since it's not directly on the main road. The owners are very involved; they are responsive and available. There is a breakfast area in the lobby, with an espresso machine, snacks, pastries, and juice. I stayed in the mini-suite, but I also toured the regular room; the showers are larger than most in Italy, and the bathrooms are roomy. The rooms, bathrooms, and building are newly renovated and have Air Conditioning! Make sure you try the property owner's restaurant nearby, Ristorante La Griglia 3, for homemade pasta, great steaks, and local dishes.

The Alkima is simply gorgeous. Sitting on an amazing piece of land overlooking the Adriatic Sea, this hotel is beautifully designed and furnished and managed. The staff are wonderful, a delicious breakfast is elegantly presented in a beautiful dining room, and the peace of this place permeates every aspect. Loved the proximity to historic downtown Vasto and a selection of good restaurants.

This small town has an unusually large supply of restaurants...

This small town has an unusually large supply of restaurants and bars (for its size), as well as shops and Cafes. They are also the hub for many of the smaller surrounding villages, since they have a post office and a Tigre Grocery store, and Punto Gurme, which is a small gourmet shop, and was our favorite. There is also a gym, and 2 banks. The people are fantastic and friendly.

A beautiful village with several bars and restaurants.

A beautiful village with several bars and restaurants. The view of the Magellan mountains from the park are breathtaking. A great base for exploring surrounding villages and the beach . Food in Gissi was fabulous with a variety of restaurants and bakeries.
