Casa del Sole is a modern, elegant, spacious and comfortable apartment that has everything and more to offer. The host Francesco was very friendly and helpful in personally orienting us to the place. There is a sun drenched south facing large terrace and a separate balcony. The apartment is centrally located in the charming and tranquil town of Montalbano Jonico, which is set in a rich agricultural area with olive groves, citrus orchards and vineyards. We had a wonderful stay and enjoyed both the apartment and the town. This listing is a great value and we particularly recommend it to all!

Rosalia was an amazing host. She showed us all the amenities that were available when we arrived. Our room was spacious and clean and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom had fresh towels, shower gel and a hairdryer. Rosalia had our table set for us in the morning for breakfast and it was delicious. They also had bottled water in the fridge and we had access to it in the evening which was really nice. The view from the terrace was amazing. Five Stars!!!

The property was clean and neighborhood is quiet. The accommodations are comfortable and the host was wonderful.

Casa della Nonna is a gem, a one in a million find. Tucked away in a private little dead end cobblestone side street with parking at the door, it is lovingly and thoughtfully set up by someone wanting to make you feel welcome. Antonella has thought of everything, including a choice of normal and decaffeinated coffees and even tea although not many Italians drink it. There were little cakes waiting for us in the fully equipped kitchen, and cold water in the fridge. The apartment has a large living area with couch and dining table, a generous bathroom and a comfortable large bed. Everything was spotlessly clean and tidy. It's like coming home. Then there is the town around it. Montalbano is a lovely little place at the top of a hill with incredible views all around no matter where you go, and a maze of little streets to lose yourself in. Half an hour's drive from here is Draco, an abandoned ancient hilltop village dating back to 540BC. Add another half hour and you are in Matera, home to the ancient Sasso caves and designated the European Capital of Culture for 2019. It also holds the title of UNESCO World Heritage Site, specifically for the "Sassi di Matera". This recognition highlights the city's unique history, cultural heritage, and the remarkable cave dwellings that define its landscape. Casa della Nonna is definitely well worth visiting and we will be back when next we return to Italy.
