I loved our stay at this hostel. Cozy, clean, and friendly and helpful staff. There's a common area where you can work on your laptop. One suggestion, if disposable slippers can be replaced with regular ones, that'd be great.

We were able to walk to some very good shrines and the beach was close, store to buy food stuff and drinks close. There were some really nice restaurants tucked away down small alley ways, safe to travel anywhere and anytime of day or night. Trains were easy to figure out and uber helped get around too.

I love Kamakura for its walkability, mountain hikes, innumerable temples and shrines, great restaurants. The only negative, is that so many others also love it, so the more popular sights (and the tram) can be very, very crowded.

so many places and temples to visit, quiet small town vibe but lots of things to offer to do and see, its more than just day trip location We did seven temples route and got goshuin when visiting temples, it was peaceful and quiet, no crowd, except the popular temples like big buddha Main street walking toward the big temple Tsurugaoka Hachimangu is worth walking around, must try this local snack, arbre noir, green tea matcha with black sesame biscuit kind of snack, cost only 90 yen, good to give it a try Komachi street is great to walk around, definitely need to try the buddha head cake Nearby places to explore: take train to Ofuna, to see temple, then take Shonan monorail to Enoshima, whole journey takes about 15mins, and be camera ready when reaching last stop, where you could see Mt Fuji if weather good - from there you could explore Enoshima island and then take the Enoden train back to Kamakura

Kamakura essentially is a part of the loop between Ofuna and Enoshima. People who come to Kamakura either do so for the shrines/temples OR to stay as a starting point to go to Enoshima. We were the latter. Kamakura gives an impression of a slow paced lifestyle with many interesting and unique shops selling a great variety of things. Kamakura itself has a shopping street which can be quite touristy. Otherwise, it's actually a bustling down with people always on the move. Enoden is definitely a must-take ride. Followed by Shonan Monorail which is an "inverted" track type of monorail. Enoshima by itself can be an entire day trip of shopping, visiting shrines and special locations but require quite a bit of leg strength and stamina. Recommend going for Escar for people who can't climb well. Iwaya Caves is good, but the trip back can be challenging. Enoshima Sea Candle is a must; though at times, the outdoor observatory can be closed and the indoor observatory doesn't have any seats - making the visit very short-lived quickly. Best if you arrange a boat ride out via a route near Iwaya Caves. The shopping streets on the mainland is just as interesting with a lot of unique items and food choices. (that's the street between Enoshima causeway and Enoshima Enoden station)

If you have been in Tokyo for enough time it is interesting to visit Kamakura where there are lovely Temples and gardens and it's not far to the beach. We were there for 3 days and that was enough to see everything on the list of attractions.

Very nice city, plenty of historical sights, shopping, restaurants. Make sure it is not a national holiday though, the local train was absolutely packed! Many people make the trek to ride the nostalgic Enoden Electric Line, a fun trip along the coast but crushing crowds on a Sunday before a holiday.

The hotel was intimate and our room was spacious and resembled a very modern Ryokan. The breakfast was traditional and delicious. It included rice pockets with a choice of fillings prepared by their chef, which sat on a bed of dried seaweed, and was served with a side of pickles and miso. The meal was flavoursome and fresh. The location was very convenient for us, noting the train and tram station a stone throw away. The area was buzzing with people, and then nice and quiet at night.

Top location by the beach. The room has a beautiful ocean view from the big window. A short walk ftom the Enoden station (Hase) - easy walk to the Great Buddha, Hase Temple, etc. Just around the corner is a convenience store (Lawson). The apartment is tastefully and beautifully decorated (with a mini Japanese garden on the balcony), and supplied with everything one could think of - various amenities, the kitchen, umbrellas, backpacks you can borrow, etc.

This hotel is situated in a quiet area (3 minutes from Koshigoe Station on the Enoden Line). It has been beautifully designed and has a rooftop with a 360°panoramic view. Comfortable, peaceful and it has an excellent restaurant (hot/cold soba as well as other traditional Japanese food). Only a few stops from main temples. Staff are professional, helpful and friendly. Highly recommend.

We had very nice room with large bathroom. Clean. Very friendly staff. We stayed several nights. Beach 2min walking. Train station 5min walking. Maybe 10min walking to temples and buddha. Breakfast is japanese style. Very good, but too much for us. We did not try the communal bath. Two machines and dryers for laundry available, which we used. I recommend this place.

Large rooms by Japanese standards which were very well appointed and had some lovely touches. Design (and aroma) of the hotel was great, courtyard around a modern Japanese garden. Super clean, great staff, didn’t take breakfast as plenty of options nearby (shout out to Eeny) good location 2 mins from the station.
