Amazing location in the jungle where you can listen and see the Okinawa Rail birds, if you are lucky like we were. The staff took us out after dinner and found not one but two Okinawa rails, perching in their favorite tree spots. We also saw giant bats right behind the hotel. Amazing!! Dinner was also excellent. The staff were all absolutely wonderful!

What a unique and charming cozy home to yourself in a quiet area. Close to lovely river trail and ocean is not far to access. Beautiful decor, comfortable beds, all the appliances you would need. Feels right at home and peaceful. Great kitchen, overall just beautiful. Wanted to stay even longer! Loved this place <3

We used this hotel as a hub to explore the north of the island, rather than to enjoy the resort. It worked very well for that purpose, and it was nice to use the hotel facilities, such as the public bath / sauna and the private beach. We also booked a snorkling activity which was fun and the guide took us to a good spot. Breakfast was really good. Lots of choice, good quality. Perhaps too busy at breakfast but staff do a great job. The car park was just next to our accommodation which was perfect for us.

Very curteous hotel personnel, clean and lovely room that is for sure a bid older, but with a lot of charme. The hotel has a very special location, away from most other facilities, making it a great place to spot stars at night. eBike rental was possible, though no western style eBikes - more basic ones. It is highly recommended to travel to this hotel by car, to make the most out of this great but remote location. Very nice beaches and river hike in bike distance.

The beach was the most beautiful beach on the mainland of Okinawa, the staff were the best I have experience in the whole of Okinawa, they were just so friendly and overly helpful and spoke fluent English. The hotel breakfast buffet had a lot of food to choose from, the hotel restaurant was delicious, rooms were clean and spacious, love the bath salts in the hotel room and the sunsets on the beach was absolutely surreal.

Yanbaru hostel is a cool place to stay, and Kunigami (and the surrounding area) are worth visiting. We especially enjoyed the large lobby, with the pool table. The family room was comfortable and well designed.
