The hosts were wonderful. They were very accommodating and even arranged a taxi for us in the morning. They met us both when we arrived and again when we were leaving.

Gorgeous. A trip back in time. The onsen was delightfully hot (even by the standards of onsen). The garden was peaceful and relaxing. The room itself was clean and spacious, especially for a single traveler. I imagine it would be a bit more crowded with the maximum of four, but still well worth the price. The food was magnificent. My first dinner was 13 courses! Truly some of the best food I’ve ever eaten. The staff were kind, courteous, and friendly. They picked me up at the station, saw to my every need, and made me feel like an honored guest. Truly, words are not enough to convey my stay.

The environment was so beautiful during the cherry blossom...

The environment was so beautiful during the cherry blossom time. It was not good that the hotel only provide one piece small & one piece big towel for each guest. That means that you need to use the same wet towel when you go to public bath two times within 3 hours. If you ask extra one piece of small towel, the hotel will charge you 300 yen’s. This is the first time I experienced this case in the hotels I lived in Japan. Perhaps the hotel tried to minimize their cost.

It is a lovely place, with good service and clean rooms.

It is a lovely place, with good service and clean rooms. Meals are good too. It is a small place so it is easy to walk around. I would avoid arriving at night , esp for guests who are just staying for one night . Make sure to check the operational dates for the Kurobe Gorge Railway
