I like the host, the food and the place itself. The house is old but inside there is a balance of old and modern facilities. I love the “makistove, the fireplace where you can just relax. The traditional bath tub was interesting and I think a must-try. The best part was the hosts who were very hospitable and kind. They served me delicious and healthy food while I listen to their stories. The cooking was amazing as they use their garden veggies and almost everything they made themselves. Staying there was a heartwarming experience. I can’t wait to come back here again.

The guesthouse is good located, nearby there are different kind restaurants. The room is like showed in the picture. The beds are comfortable and enough warm, and there was no need to use the electric blanket and sparkling clean. There is all the kitchen equipment to cook, or eat there. There is a living room where you can sit and talk to other travelers. The badroom and shower room are separated, this makes everything easier when people come together manly in the morning and evening. The young owner is quite helpful and very welcoming. He gave us a yummy bread which was very yummy. Thanks for that.We visited the paces that he suggested, which were amazing. We definitely suggest this place to stay.

It is clear the decor hasn't been updated in a few decades, but the number of amenities offered outweighed that. Also, because it clearly used to be an apartment building there is a lot of space in the hotel room. Many Tokyo hotel rooms are about 80% bed. There is very little space to walk around, but this had plenty of room for two people.

This was a great gem! Close to train station yet on a quiet side street. Okaya was a great place to stay to see all of Suwa and Chino. Everything accessible by excellent electric bike available for 1500/day at close by train station. The hostess at this place was just wonderful. We communicated easily via Google translate. The place is large and immaculately clean, kitchen well equipped with lots of teas available for free. Definitely the most restful stay on my trip. Very highly recommend it!

The hosts Naomi and Chris were wonderful. They have 2 cute cats and a dog, and some fish as well. They made us breakfast with locally sourced ingredients, and really made us feel like we were welcome in their home. The guesthouse itself is a beautiful old renovated japanese house with all the amenities you could need, and it's nestled in the hills of a lovely quiet town in the mountains. We would definitely stay again if we ever are in the area, and cannot recommend the guesthouse enough! :)

Everything was beautiful, this place was fantastic and a wonderful retreat along the Nakasendo Trail. The staff were so warm and helpful - they truly thought of everything. 10/10!!

I loved this hotel. The Japanese style room was excellent. The hotel manager was so friendly he did me a favor nice favor to help with a dinner reservation. I’d love to stay here again!

Conveniently located near expressway. Staff was very friendly and the rooms and facilities were very clean. The breakfast was good as well. Exceptionally clean.
