There is absolutely nothing we did not like about this hotel! Location is superb, hard to believe its only 2 star! It was the first time we entered a hotel and it smelled so nice! The lobby is exquisite with unique decoration of wooden and metal furniturw and elements. Our room was also amazing, curtains opening automatically when you enter the room, beautiful smell and very clean! The view of the river and bridge was trully something else and its location was exceptional (only 2 minute walk from hanok village, restaurants, cafes and historical sites). Another surprise was the "in house" hollys coffee shop next to the lobby (inside the hotel).

The buildings look traditional, yet are modern. The room was spacious. The bathroom was laid out to allow one person to use the toilet in privacy while another could shower or bath in privacy. The room was very quiet.The staff was polite and quick to respond to requests. The grounds are well kept and beautiful.

Our stay at Hanok Madang in Jeonju was truly wonderful. The property is set in an idyllic location, right across from a scenic river and charming bridge, which added to its tranquil and picturesque atmosphere. The hanok itself felt incredibly homey and comfortable, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The hosts were exceptionally kind and genuinely welcoming, always eager to offer helpful recommendations about the area. They went out of their way to assist us, even waking up early to help book a cab for our departure. Traveling with my teenage daughter, we both felt very welcome and completely safe throughout our stay. I highly recommend Hanok Madang to anyone visiting Jeonju for a memorable and heartwarming experience.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Beautiful, authentic hanok stay in Jeonju I’ve lived in the U.S. for over 40 years and visit Korea from time to time to see my family. On this trip, my Japanese friend from Seattle joined me—it was her very first time in Korea. I wanted her to experience something truly authentic, and staying in Jeonju Hanok Village was at the top of my list. I chose Jahayoen Hanok Stay, and it was absolutely perfect. The hanok was originally built in 1923 and has been beautifully remodeled, so it kept all the charm while still being clean, comfortable, and modern. The owner was wonderfully attentive and personally greeted us for both check-in and check-out, which made the stay feel even more special. The location is excellent—close to everything yet peaceful. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience a traditional Korean house with comfort and warmth.

Extensive guidance on what to do in Jeonju and a super warm welcome. They reserved a parking spot for us with their own car and waited until we arrived. Wonderful house and surprisingly quiet at night. He made wooden printing blocks for a living, see pictures.

We stayed at Hanok Dream for two nights in late November. It was our first Hanok experience and the most memorable part of our 8-day trip in Korea! As other reviews have pointed out, the location is perfect and the owner is friendly. I can’t say enough great things about the owner, Mr. Choi. We learned that he is a retired banker. He is super organized, attentive, and helpful. After he knew that my wife is a K-drama fan, he immediately marked a few famous filming locations on the map. In addition, there was a water cooler in his office, and it helped a lot for us to get hot drinking water on cold days. His wife is also a friendly lady, and we tried to communicate via the translation apps! This kind of interactions with locals really enriched our experience. We had never slept on the floor before, but we were glad that we got used to it, with the help of extra pillows! I can’t find words to describe the wonder of lying on the heated floor and feeling the heat warming into my body through my back. I guess this is Koreans’ secret to stay healthy! Since we stayed for two nights, we had enough time to visit all the major attractions (and great restaurants and cafes!) without feeling rushed. I especially enjoyed walking around the old town late at night or early in the morning, when the day-trippers were gone and it seemed that you had Jeonju all to yourself!
