The Ashburnham Estate is quiet and peaceful with fresh air and comfortable accommodation. We loved how unique it is, and the history is also interesting. We stayed 6 nights and were sad to leave. The staff made us feel very welcome from the instant we arrived. We loved the private waterfall and lovely swimming pool with stunning views. I know I will dream of this place for years to come. They even made me a special cake for my birthday. The chef there is very talented and I’m already missing their cooked breakfasts and 3 course candlelit dinners on the terrace. Very good afternoon tea made from their own blend too. Mostly we will miss Vish and his helpful kind care. Nothing was too much trouble. I hope to one day be fortunate enough to go back.

Upon arrival just 20 mins after booking, the manager checked us in in quite fast Rooms were spacious and had good mountain view Breakfast is continental, but portions are good Swimming pool looked good, however we didn't try because of the weather

The location was perfect, so peaceful. The house was full of old world charm. The rooms are quaint but comfortable. The breakfast, lunches and dinners were all outstanding. We enjoyed the waterfall and cascade pool, the steps down are a challenge but definitely worth it if you can manage them. The stand out at this hotel are the staff. Kalinga and Vish gave us such a warm welcome, looked after us so well while we were there and waved us off when we left.

Beautiful location in the mountains. Beautifully designed and decorated. Very friendly staff who catered for all our needs. Relaxed atmosphere. Waterfall on the premise with cascade pools to climb up. We took a bus from Kandy to Elkaduwa and a Tuktuk from there to Ashburnham so the accommodation is easily by public transport. In the area you can hike to One Tree Hill (2,5km away) or visit Sembuwatta Lake by Tuktuk.

I had an amazing stay at this hotel! The place is truly fantastic and the price is very reasonable compared to the quality. The food was delicious and offered a great variety. The staff were so kind, helpful, and always made me feel welcome. Everything was clean, comfortable, and well organized. I definitely recommend this hotel and would love to come back again!
