The old building is full of history, you feel like staying in a museum! I did not use the pool, but it looked very clean. The place is cluse to a busy little town, but you would not know it is there. The staff was very attentive and looked after me. This is a wonderful place to get away from the tourist bubble!

Everything was great ! The hotel is very beautiful, with a big pools and several sunbeds and a garden. The staff of the hotel did an AMAZING job, we felt so loved and well cared of. We were visiting with our 2 young kids (2 years old and 3 months old), and they did everything to make us feel the most welcomed. They were so attentive in everything and each detail! The general manager was always there making sure we were enjoying our time, and he even did accompany us to the supermarket when we needed! Rooms were clean and spacious with everything we needed. We ate at their restaurant few times, either the buffet or a la carte and everything was delicious. Honestly, best price / quality hotel we could find in Sri Lanka, and, most important, best staff ever!

Vimanra hotel is by far one of the most beautiful places you can find in udawalawe. Its a small family-run hotel located in a lush and green forest, next to a lake. It was amazing to wake up to the sound of birds and taking a dip in the (very clean) swimming pool. The garden is full of plants and fruit trees such as mangos, papayas and pineapple. There's even a small lake filled with fish. The owners are very very kind and helpful. They booked a safari for us and even made us a very, very good dinner on the day that all shops and restaurants were closed. You'll feel immediately at home and at peace in this place. The family room is huge and the bathroom is very big! Shower and toilet are separated which is very convenient for a group of 3 or 4. If you've been in busy Kandy or galle, then this is the perfect place to calm down and enjoy the beautiful lush nature of Sri Lanka . And not to forget: the beds were very comfy and the rooms have airconditioning

I had a wonderful time at Waraka. I spent two nights, and arrived about 1.5 hours later than planned (a little after 9pm) due to my driver getting switched at the last minute (I did not organize my car from Colombo through Waraka, so that’s on me). The staff stayed up for me, and were in contact about my arrival (sorry, again!). They offered me dinner but I was still getting over jet lag so went right to bed. They packed breakfast for me the next morning for my safari, and had it ready for me. My lunch back at the hotel was great, as was dinner. During lunch, across the river, I saw a heard of buffalo which just made it fun. I had breakfast my second morning when I returned from my safari, and it was delicious and huge with a nice plate of fresh fruit. Again, they were very accommodating to serve me a little outside of their regular breakfast hours. As far as I could tell, I was the only guest, but the staff were all friendly, kind, and flexible. My room was very spacious, the bed comfortable, and a great view. The entire property is very serene and peaceful. I did not end up getting in the pool, though I had every intention, but a short rain sent me back to my room. I would absolutely stay here again, and highly recommend it to those of you looking. My only note is that the prices they shared for safari were more than double what I found with other companies, so I did some research and booked outside of the hotel. I felt badly about this, but I really couldn’t justify it and having had some less than desirable safari experiences, I wanted to make sure I was with a company that met my needs. But again, would absolutely stay here again!

Spent one night at this place. Beautiful location close to Udawalawa national park and water reservoir. Clean and spacious pool with delicious food with lots of choices. Also staff at Kalu’s place is very helpful. Would definitely recommend for a relaxing stay.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food was good and the pool area was nice. They arranged the safari to Udawalawe National Park. The driver took us around the park.

Overall it was a relaxing experience and this place had a must see view of udawalawe .

We had an amazing time at Nil Diya Mankada. The pool was incredibly clean and well-maintained, making it a joy to relax in. The food at the open restaurant was absolutely delicious, with a variety of options to satisfy everyone in the family. The entire property was spotless and very well-kept. We’ll definitely be back!

I had a lovely stay at Green Paradise Cottage, the garden was so beautiful with interesting plants, and the family were really friendly. They gave me traditional Sri Lankan breakfast and also I asked for dinner in the evening which was so welcome having arrived at 7 and travelling by bus to get there. One of the family also ran safaris, so organised it through them really easily and I had an amazing time seeing a whole family of elephants by the lake-very lucky!

Leel was a wonderful Host. Leel’s Safari Cottage was stunning. Beautiful accom, gardens & his mums food was probably one of the best we have had in Sri Lanka. We did a safari with them as well which was wonderful the breakfast supplied by Leels’s wife Nameel delicious. Nothing was too hard. Very generous people.

It was brilliant. Hosts and place were lovely. New rooms, and beautiful environment. Safar was great and we could see the first from the room.

Amazing food, accommodation, common areas and safari drives! Staff were utterly charming - knowledgeable and professional!

This home stay was amazing. We all agreed that the dinner we had was the best we had in our 12 days in Sri Lanka. The food was fresh, ample and so delicious. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. The owner of the home provided the best half day safari for us. He took time and didn't rush safari and not only showed us elephants but many other interesting animals. He even brought breakfast and tea to enjoy on the lakeside.
