Both breakfast and dinner were wonderful! The owner and the rest of the staff there were so friendly and accommodating. Room was large and comfortable and they got us to lion rock early in the morning so we were at the top to see the sunrise!

The property is beautiful and in a very unique setting. The rooms are so spacious and have beautiful views. The staff at the hotel are absolutely incredible - so thoughtful and kind, helpful in so many ways. They made our stay extra special and made us feel cared for and welcome. Dhananjaya was so friendly and attentive and made sure that we had delicious breakfast each morning.

Central location walkable to shops, restaurants, and the main attractions. Breakfast was excellent. Danusha, the manager, was incredibly helpful throughout my stay. He provided great local recommendations and assisted me with booking transportation as well as a jeep elephant safari tour, which I highly recommend. He truly went above and beyond, even driving me to the ATM in his own vehicle one evening when I didn’t feel comfortable walking alone.

It’s a property with a soul, with decoration linked to some Sri Lanka famous movies. Rooms are great and all have a nice view to the big garden, pool and lake at the end. The restaurant is perfect, the hygiene is top, the quality of the food is great. People are super friendly. There is a great spa too with variety of massages. Ideal place to just stay and relax and/or visit some great places around. Very well decorated. A place where we will return.

My trip to Sigiriya was excellent, and I was amazed by the site itself. However, I was shocked by the entrance fees. There are different prices for tourists and locals, and I found that visitors were constantly approached by guides, all offering different prices for their services. I feel this should be better managed by the government, as Sigiriya is one of the country's greatest historical and cultural assets, as well as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. I also felt that the historical information presented at the site does not fully acknowledge the contributions and influence of all ethnic communities that have shaped the history of Sigiriya. As someone of Tamil heritage, I noticed what I understand to be historic Tamil inscriptions on the walls, yet I did not see any reference to them in the official information provided. My impression was that some aspects of the site's history could be presented in a more balanced and inclusive way. Overall, Sigiriya is an incredible place to visit, and I thoroughly enjoyed the climb and the experience. It is a remarkable historical site that everyone visiting Sri Lanka should see. I hope that, in the future, both the visitor experience and the presentation of its history continue to evolve in a way that reflects the site's rich and diverse heritage.

The village tour was very disappointing.

The village tour was very disappointing. They didn't explain any thing during the tour. All you get is a short bullock, tracktor and boat ride. They eat the same food 9rice and veg) as can be found in Srilanka, so nothing different with the village food either. Dont get cheated

From the last time I visited Sigiriya it has improved so much. It is looked after very well and kept very clean. I took my son and the guide who took us was very knowledgeable and helpful. The view at the top is simply amazing and a place you must visit if you travel to Sri Lanka.

climbing Sigiriya rock was well worth the effort, the views are unmatched, I would highly recommend it, also if you have the energy climb Pidurangala rock as well to get the perfect picture of Sigiriya

We absolutely loved Sigiriya.

We absolutely loved Sigiriya. There were so many incredible things to do. We hiked up Pidurangala rock where the views of Lion rock and surrounds were breathtaking. Then was the climb up Lion Rock. This was also amazing and so unique. Looking back at my photos now I'm home I am still so in awe of how beautiful it was.To top off our stay, we did an elephant safari for half the day and saw so many elephants. It was such a fun day. I would highly recoend going to see the Dambulla cave temple if you have time. The size of the buddahs and the inticate patterns on the walls ceilings were so beautiful. There are so many restaurants along the main road and the food was delicious. You can easily spend 3 days or more here and not be bored. I would highly recomend it.

Visit to lion rock was a very good experience.

Visit to lion rock was a very good experience. But since my stay in Lanka was total of 8 days didn't want to do Pidurangala the next day. If you're keen on wildlife especially birds do keep an eye out, spotted around 12 different species. Lots of stray dogs, got chased by one too 😅.

Clean, comfortable room with all the facilities you expect (fridge, safe, tea/coffee making facilities, complimentary water, toiletries). Excellent buffet breakfast and dinner. Friendly staff. Great setting. Location is good, and can be used as a base for Minneriya, Dambulla caves, Polonnaruwa and Sigiriya. This hotel gets used a lot by big tour groups, which is testament to how good it is. It can mean meal times can be busy. Also, you may need to book early to get a room for your chosen dates.

Helpful, friendly staff, beautiful grounds, good sized comfortable room, excellent breakfast & dining. The hotel is within easy walking distance to hotel street with its many restaurants. A very quaint village with its jungle setting. Besides the walks up Lion Rock & Pidurangala, a highlight of our stay was a night hike with Jaathu, the resident naturalist at the resort, to see the Loris monkeys in their natural habitat. We loved our stay at the Sigiriya Village resort.

The hotel was close to the Sigiriya Lion Rock. So we can go there and climb up with our 5yo son. So it was great. The whole hotel looked very well maintained. Definitely one of the best options in the area. And great value for money. The staff were helpful with anything needed. The food in the restaurant was delicious and reasonably priced. The breakfast was very rich.
