FAQs about hotels in Casablanca

An Impressive City Full of Colors and Aromas

Right on the Atlantic Ocean, the cosmopolitan Casablanca is the largest city in Morocco, although Rabat is the political capital. This colorful city features lively traditional markets and narrow streets full of spices and aromas.

Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, the Hassan II Mosque has the tallest minaret in the world. Made of hand-crafted marble, this beautiful mosque blends Islamic architecture with Moroccan elements. Situated in the heart of Morocco, the modern Port of Casablanca is the largest one in North Africa and one of the largest artificial ports in the world.

The traditional market of Quartier Habous has a great variety of handmade Arabic carpets, metal wares and a huge olive area. The shopping paradise of the Exposition Nationale d'Artisanat is the place to buy local products, souvenirs and quality leather goods.

The Boulevard Muhammad V is Casablanca’s busiest street connecting the Place des Nations Unies with the train station in the east of the city. If you're looking for relaxation, visit one of the local bathhouses and enjoy soothing spa treatments. Booking.com has a big selection of hotels in Casablanca with spa facilities.

Mohammed V International Airport is the busiest airport in Morroco, serving many European countries. The Casablanca Voyageurs train station connects the city with Marrakech and Tangier.

I only stayed overnight at a Casablanca airport hotel on my way back to Canada from Agadir, in southern Morocco. However, I have stayed in Casablanca on two other occasions. It's a very big city and I don't think that there's much to see, other than the huge King Hassan II Mosque. It has a spectacular setting, right on the ocean front. I saw the mosque for the first time after it was newly completed in the 1990s. I revisited the site again in 2025. Another place in Casablanca that is fun to visit and to have a good meal is Rick's Cafe. Of course it's not the real Rick's from the movie "Casablanca", but fun nonetheless. It even has a piano, but no Sam to play it. You can buy souvenir t-shirts, etc. to take home.

Casablanca is what you expect wealth and extreme poverty...

Casablanca is what you expect wealth and extreme poverty side by side, mosque was worth a visit and trams work well but crossing any road is a near death experience but worst of all is the smoking, If you are a smoker your ok , every bar and hotel , indoors or out , restaurants, people smoke , I don’t know if they have smoking bans in Morocco but if they do it’s like everything else in this place no one obeys any rules. The beaches that I have seen are sandy if you could call it that but don’t think sun lounger more plastic chair so you need to find what they call private beach which means sunbeds swimming pool and access to the Atlantic Ocean, always rough. Usual charge is about 100 drms

A once magnificent city but now a tired and dirty place.

A once magnificent city but now a tired and dirty place. The only redeeming features are the Hassan 2nd Mosque and Ricks Cafe. I know there is poverty in the region but everyone is out to fleece Westerners out of as much money as possible. It makes for a very tiring experience. Glad we went but would never visit again

I found Rabat better than Casablanca in terms of cleanliness on the streets. I liked the vibrancy of Casablanca but we chose our trip at the wrong time of the year as certain sites were closed due to Religious Holidays. I enjoyed Rabat as it was so clean and easy to get around, with such a diversity of experience, from the Old City to the new and modern esplanade. I also found the Old Medina quite unique in Rabat and found the food to be more diverse and the walking areas much cleaner.

Our three-week trip to Morocco was excellent.

Our three-week trip to Morocco was excellent. Casablanca, however, is not somewhere we would go again. Nothing wrong with it, but it is a big city like most big cities. It lacks the charm or interest of so many other places in Morocco. See the Hassan II Mosque, take a short driving trip of Morocco, eat at Rick's if you so desire, and leave. Your time is such much better spent in Rabat, Tangier, Fes, Chefchaouan, Ifrane, the Atlas Mountains, the Sahara, Marrakech, Essaouira and other places in Morocco.

Everything was perfect 💗 It was clean and cozy Apppartment. Comparing other visited places in Morocco especially apartments not hotels I was surprised to see coffee machine with capsules and there is good shower with hot water! It was not cold inside and so quite. Our host was really nice and helped us at night to reach apartment from the airport. Called to taxi driver and he came in 10 minutes. Thank you for everything and wish you more guests 🫶🏻

Proximity to the airport (under 5 min), restaurant on premises was open in the afternoon on arrival, so we could eat after a long voyage. Hot water present (even scalding, but that's an ok problem to manage after other spots in Morocco where there was none). We were leaving at 5am, so before breakfast, yet our room included breakfast. The staff prepared a packed breakfast for us, which was very nice of them.

Very good location, next to Casa Voyagers train station (5/10 min walking) and a mall attached to it. There is a bus that takes you to any spot or you can take the petit taxi. Only stayed for a night so not much to report on, however it was nice to stay in a normal hotel after all the riads and dars in Morocco :D
