On a whim, my partner and I decided to cut our stay in El Cuyo short and squeeze in a night at Ek Balam on our way to Valladolid. This was the only property available and we booked it. It turned out to be the best 24 hours of our entire journey. We had this modern, spacious home all to ourselves nestled in the forest. The owner, Arturo, lives in the house next door so the property gives you the feeling of total privacy without feeling alone or unsafe. Arturo was there to greet us when we arrived, gave us a little tour of the property and we learned that he is also a massage therapist. We booked massages with him for the next day after climbing the Acropolis at Ek Balam. My partner and I agreed they were the best massages we had received in quite a long time and I have very high standards when it comes to a good therapeutic, deep tissue massage. We will definitely be returning to this tranquil setting in the future for more rest and relaxation. If you are seeking peace, tranquility and restoration, this is the place for you.

Wonderful property, including 2 cenotes, a pool, and a small ruin-- plus free breakfast. It is near many cenotes. Very quiet and peaceful. Checkout is at noon. Great, attentive staff. Note: we stayed in a hotel room, not the clamping area.

The cabin way very well maintainwd and equipped. Many courtesy gifts offered: snacks, drinks. The Cenote is amazigh and being able to enjoy it alone was fantastic. The staff is really friendly, speaks English (which is not so frequent in that area), very attentive and helpful.

Hacienda Kaan Ac is a beautiful place to enjoy around Valladolid. It is a real hacienda with a lot of history and close to many places to visit. There is a variety of rooms you can choose from. The hacienda has a museum that shows you a bit of the history of Mexico during colonial times. There is even a book in Hacienda Kaan Ac, "El Filibustero" by Eligio Ancona. If you can visit the place I really advise you to go. On top of that, the breakfast is great!

I honestly purely booked this hotel initially for the convenient location, as it's very close to a lot of great Cenotes I wanted to visit, outside of Valladolid. But we received so much more! The staff, including (and especially) the manager Vicente made us feel super welcome from the start, giving us full access to the amazing Spazi Ha Cenote on site, whenever we wanted to go, and prepared beautiful and delicious meals (Vicente went to culinary school in the US and therefore also speaks fluent English). Breakfast is included, but we also had lunch and dinner there- super tasty! Vicente led us on a very informative tour around the beautiful grounds during the evening (including a bonfire for roasting marshmallows especially for us), and during the daytime, showing us a Mayan spa, their own vegetable and fruit garden, a pig and chicken farm, etc etc. There's also a beautiful pool and kids play area. The facilities at this place are very new and tastefully designed. My plan of seeing all the other Cenotes became unnecessary, this was just such a find in itself, and we ended up spending a lot of quality time there, as it was just so perfect. The Cenote itself, and the amazing entrance to it also had a very interesting fact; you can see a face in the rock!! I'm not religious, but one of the stalactites is in the shape of a cross, and above it is the face of what could be God... I found myself staring at it in awe for quite some time. All in all, the memory of staying at this hotel for 2 nights and 3 days was the best out of a two week Yucatan vacation, and we will definitely come back in the future.

Room was excellent and large, breakfasts were fantastic and staff was very friendly and helpful. Location is perfect for seeing the town and very near the square.
