Everything was great! There was construction, but didn't bother us really, except that the bar and restaurant were not open, but there were still places to sit and relax around the pool. The only thing I have to complain about are the sinks in the bathrooms!! They are so ridiculously small that you hit your head on the wall when brushing your teeth or attempting to wash your face!! They really need to rethink them, and replace with something larger and user friendly! Other than that, staff was great, rooms were modern and clean, beds were comfortable. The staff even collected wood and made us a bonfire on the beach, set up chairs, brought out a Bluetooth speaker for music! And they made us all instant coffee in the morning, because we were sad there was no restaurant Alberto and Very nice!

The family behind La Familia could not be more kind and welcoming. I can't imagine staying anywhere else in San Blas. The room was spacious and immaculate, the courtyard was lovely, the morning coffee was most welcome. Breakfast is only served on weekends, but an excellent breakfast can be had at Las Tradiciones 3 or so blocks away. It's about a 20 minute walk to the beach (no hotels on Playa Borrego) or a 50 peso cab ride. There is a taxi stand on the street just down from the hotel. A word of advice: take the warnings about the famous San Blas jejenes/sandflies seriously and wear your repellent outdoors, especially early morning and around sunset.

The staff goes out of its way to make us feel welcome and help us in any way. Julio had a broad smile when he saw us approaching El Delfin, Garza Canela's ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ restaurant. Service is prompt and filled with a desire to please.
