Great staff, good food, exterior setting very good, nature walk path etc. A bit dated but clean, internet very fast. Economical and located close to autopista, low volume of traffic. Have stayed here several times over the years, half way stop for us between US and Mexico homes

I loved this modern 1 bedroom apt. in downtown Matajuala. Modern Ikea decor, very comfortable beds, great air-conditioning, full kitchen, fantastic flat screen TV, and very, very clean. What thrilled us the most was exploring Centro right out the front door. Nothing pretentious about Matajuala...true Mexico with lots of mom and pop stores, beautiful little parks, a gorgeous cathedral, and some of the best mole I've ever eaten. I want to come back for a longer stay to practice my Spanish with the friendly locals. And what a deal with such a low price! One of my happiest travel experiences ❤️ of all time. Thanks Paola for your kindness and making sure we had everything we needed. we will be back!

It is 1/2 way between the border and Guadalajara or Mexico City so a perfect place to overnight. There are a few good restaurants on the highway. There is a Walmart on the highway if you need anything.

When traveling from our area (PV Jalisco, or Jaltemba Bay...

When traveling from our area (PV Jalisco, or Jaltemba Bay Compostela Nayarit) back to the USA/Canada, the best route thus far runs right through Matehuala, and Is an ideal stopover before continuing to the Texas border the next day (~6 hrs+). Lots of great places to stay, either car travel with/without pets, or RV's and motorhomes and trailers. A very safe feeling city.

This hotel is perfect for snowbirds travelling to a number of winter destinations from the US and Canada. Once across the US/MX border it is a midway driving spot for many destinations or a good first night if travelling even further south. The in-house restaurant means you can stay overnight with no need to hunt for food.

Matehuala was a quick stop, we didn’t really spend much time there. On our way back, we didn’t make it. Emergency stop about 70 miles away cut our trip up and made it hell. Matehuala was our destination, didn’t make it.

This place should be removed from your site. It is just a huge room with a few broken down beds with dingy sheets and spreads with old lumpy pillows.tattered towels, no light switches nearby. No drinking water. Roaches crawling on the walls . A creepy scary place. Couldn’t wait for dawn so we could escape. Nothing good to remember about this sorry excuse for a la Quinta hotel. Even the name is a scam,

The hotel has safe gated parking. Remodeled a couple of years ago. Rooms are small but fine for an overnight. Bathroom fine with soap, shampoo, lotion, and conditioner dispensers, and plenty of hot water. Keurig style pod coffee maker. Air Conditioning worked fine. Large screen television has streaming platforms such as Netflix available. The WIFI was great.

The hotel is super retro and well maintained. All of the staff are very friendly, and the food at the restaurant was very good! we stopped in for one night on our drive to the Yucatan. The bed was comfortable and we got a good nights sleep.
