There was onsite parking and it was located next to a police station. The hotel manager was personable and staff was very friendly They had an onsite cook and massager. The food was great. I had the barracuda one night and it was tasty. They do have big towels for rent. Eggs are fresh as they keep chickens on site. If you stayed in a tent, bathrooms and showers were a 15 second walk. The beach was a 6 minute walk and it was walking distance for diving and swimming with the dolphins businesses. Mango bar, served great food, was only a 10 minute walk from the site.

Reeva was the absolute best host! She was so attentive to our needs while we were there and truly provided a 5 star experience. As travelers from out of the country, she provided recommendations for things to do and even booked things on our behalf which we greatly appreciated. The property was so beautiful and the accommodations were exactly what we expected. I highly recommend Moonstone and can't say enough good things about our experience there!

The best place to stay in Pinta de Ouro! The location is on the beach, the vibe, the people who live and work there, all the guests are all so incredibly nice. I regretted staying so short. Next time I'll stay for a month! The diving was ridiculously good. We had 20 sharks swimming around at the same time. I can't praise this place more, I had the absolute best time ever here ❤️

Its a good place , the challenge is the roads, when you go further down . The people are warm and welcoming. My food experience was bit less that what I expected . The hawkers on the beach side , are shrud - they just want people to pay for everything .

Loved our first trip to Ponta do Oura!

Loved our first trip to Ponta do Oura! Everything is so easy to get to and such a wide choice of restaurants! All very reasonably priced and excellent service! Advisable to take CASH for tipping staff vs putting the tip through on your card (that way they get their tips immediately and definitely get them!). Loved that you can walk even at night and never felt safer - not like beaches in SA where you wouldn't risk walking alone etc especially if you're almost the only person on the beach! The hawkers on the beach do get a bit irritating as they don't like to accept a no thank you BUT i do appreciate they're all trying to make their livings too! The beach massages are fantastic and such good value for money!! Was our first visit and Ponta do Ouro will definitely be our choice for beach holidays (vs KZN) in the future!!

We have been going for about 13 years and just love Ponta do Ouro! We love the diving, the beach, the people. We Dive with Mozambique Scuba (Lorrayne Gaymer) who is awesome and taught our kids to dive when they were 13 and 14. We keep returning to dive with her as she really makes them feel confident in the water. The roads are easy enough to get around with a 2x4. We love to have a bite to eat at Toe Beans before or after a dive, and we love to spend the afternoons at places where we can swim and have a late lunch / early dinner - like Kaya Kwera, The Melting Pot, Sapphire Sands. The beach is fab, you can rent a gazebo and chairs easily for a brilliant beach day or two and spend hours in the sea as it is calm and perfect for all ages. The beach bar has a great view of the beach and some good food too. We take some food with us, and buy the rest at the shop there or at restaurants.

A really beautiful and safe place.

A really beautiful and safe place. Beaches and surrounding sand dunes are immaculate and well patrolled by security and life-guards. The waters are clean and the marine life is abundant. We always felt safe on the beaches or in the town. The locals are very friendly and helpful . Beach vendors were a bit pushy , but not over the top. Fluency in Portuguese would be very helpful, but locals do try and speak English. There are even body massages available on the beach. Once in Ponto D'Ouro, you can walk to all restaurants or shops. We will definitely be back.

Very busy little town during SA school holidays.

Very busy little town during SA school holidays. Lots of South African and Mozambiqan vistors. A real african travel experience. Very basic ammenities. Amazing if you love to surf, dive, snorkel and haggle in the markets. Some hidden gems alone the coast.
