Our favorite stay in Namibia! Comfortable, spacious cabins in an incredibly beautiful landscape. The staff members were great, the star-gazing amazing and they offered a delicious self-bbq menu that we had a blast making one evening. You will not be disappointed booking this place!

I had an absolutely unforgettable stay at Desert Camp, and I would happily give it a full 10/10! The location is fantastic — just a short drive from the Sossusvlei entrance, making early morning sunrise trips to the dunes super easy. What I loved most was sleeping under the stars — having the option to relax outside on the veranda and enjoy the desert sky was a highlight of my trip. The bed was very comfortable, and the sunsets and vast views were simply breathtaking from the rooftop the bar up there was really nice the lady who works there is so so nice I had a great time talking with her sipping drinks. The cabins are clean and well‑equipped with what you need (I really loved the shower outside ), and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. It was so peaceful waking up to the sounds of nature all around us. The restaurant is good I had a great diner but the breakfast it too basic.

🤎🇳🇦 Rating my stay at @deadvalleylodge in Sesriem, Namibia 🇳🇦🤎 If you are planning to visit Sossusvlei/Deadvlei, SAVE this post! 📍LOCATION: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Located just inside the Sesriem Outer Gate (which is KEY if you want to visit Sossusvlei at sunrise or sunset), this lodge gives you the perfect base. If you arrive on the GO2 Shuttle (like I did), they will pick you up at the Sesriem shuttle stop. If you are heading to the dunes/Deadvlei, note that it takes about an hour to get from the inner gate to Sossusvlei. So you will either need to book a tour or bring your own vehicle (parking available onsite). 🖼️ DECOR/AESTHETIC: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I fell in love with the property at first sight! I was walking around telling the staff, “It’s so aesthetic!” While taking pictures of everything. Lol 🛏️ ROOMS: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 Have you ever stayed in a tented chalet?? (Side Note: Isn’t it just fun to say “tented chalet”? 🤭) The chalets are comfortable, luxurious, with A/C and a private bath suite. I rated the room a 4.5 solely because there were no international plug outlets/adapters (which I could/should have brought myself, but I’m unwilling to take accountability lol). 🧍🏾‍♂️🧍🏾‍♀️ STAFF: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I would give them 10 stars if I could! From reception, to the restaurant, to the tour guides, everyone went above and beyond to ensure I had an incredible stay. I had two big asks: (1) to celebrate my birthday! 🎂 and (2) to visit Deadvlei at sunrise. 🌅 At dinner, the team sang me Happy Birthday and brought out a GIGANTIC cake. And when no other guests signed up for the sunrise dune tour (there is a 3 guest minimum), they hooked me up with nearby @nwrinsta so I could make my desert dune dreams come true! 🏜️💃🏾 💰 VALUE: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I paid $292 USD for a one-night stay. This included round-trip transfer to the shuttle stop and all my meals.

I like NWR staff here more than Etosha.

I like NWR staff here more than Etosha. They are naturally friendly and explain detail of the park rules, how to do everthing right. Dead valley is gorgeous. They are some hidden place near dead valley to see gemsbox on red desert sand. If your rent 4x4 and known how to drive on soft sand, go past the dead valley parking spot, it will have trees for lunch and walk about 1km to see gemsbox walking, eating, sleeping

What a beautiful place my goodness. So much to do in the area - we would have definitely stayed longer to try out the different activities. Climbing the dunes at Sossusvlei was honestly the best day. It was beautiful and I can’t wait to be back!

It was busy but still private enough not to spoil the overnight stay. The staff were very helpful in the shop. It was useful to have the fuel station as well. The supplies in the shop were adequate for the overnight stay and the location was convenient for Sossusvlei. The drive into Sossusvlei was fine but very crowded when we got to Deadvlei. Well worth a visit though.

We stayed at the Desert Camp, not far from the park entrance gate. It was an easy drive to the park, and the 60km of wonderful tarred road to the 2 wheel drive car park. This gives access to Dig Daddy dune and Deadvlei. From here the park vehicle took us to Big Momma dune, and also goes to Hidden Vlei. All very easy. Dune 45 is 45 km along the road. The bus cost 180 Namibian dollars in October 2023. Wear runners to climb the dunes and walk to Deadvlei. Har, sunglasses and water are essential. We ate at the restaurant inside the park gate. Good and affordable. We bought our water at the shop there. Breakfast at the Sossusvlei Lodge was good too. I would recommend paying extra for tyre and glass insurance when picking up your rental car. Prior to coming to Sesriem, we had a flat tyre far from anywhere and Hertz directed us to a lodge with tyre repair services. We had to go on to Outjo to get the fixed tyre replaced, but the insurance made it less of a concern.

Best place to experience the oldest desert on earth.

Best place to experience the oldest desert on earth. Wonderful place to spend time with. At least you need to stay 1 night inside park to make sure that you can go to Deadvlei early in the moring. Take photos with shade of light. Hiking at Daddy dune in the morning and slide down to deadvlei.

Sesriem is an oasis in the desert and everything is well organized but basic. Prepare well before you go. The cleanliness of the entire area is remarkable. The Namibian people are very friendly and helpful - don't be shy to ask for advice.

Lovely campsite. Great facilities. Loved the view. Jackals around in the evening. 30 minutes from sesriem over a gravel road. Getting there by sunrise, driving in the dark was doable.
