We stayed in an overwater bungalow for 3 nights. It was incredible experience and the view was just stunning. Unfortunately we couldn’t swim in the water due to the recent shark attack, but we could see so many fish, turtles and sea snakes during our stay. The staffs were very friendly and welcoming. Special thank you to Malia who looked after us very well. We had a best time, and it was very hard to leave the island. We will definitely be back again.

The room was spacious, airy and great natural light. Being really close to the beach meant I could have an early morning swim easily. As we were in the back part of the hotel it was relatively quiet, considering Baies de Citrons is renowned for it's spirited nature. Staff were always helpful and friendly. My brother and I took our 82 year old mother to New Caledonia for a holiday and the staff ensured she had a lovely stay. She really felt looked after there. Easy walking distance to a number of cafes and restaurants, bars.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. They spoke English very well. I really appreciated the support from a particular staff, Marie, from Wallis and Futuna. She was so nice to me. Also there was a small shop very near to the hotel which was super convenient

Peaceful place, great rooms and staff, and crystal-clear water — perfect to relax. The rooms were extremely clean, well organized, and spacious, with a spectacular view. The breakfast was good and a great way to start the day. The island is small, which makes it very easy and pleasant to walk around and explore on foot. Marine life is abundant, and the water is so clear that you can see fish and turtles even without snorkeling. The staff were friendly and helpful, always willing to assist with anything we needed. We had no negative points during our stay, and everything contributed to a calm and comfortable experience. I would definitely recommend this place to new travelers looking for a relaxing getaway.

Ilot Maitre is relatively easy to get to from Australia, The resort is a little tired and the food options need to be improved considerably. However, it offers a great place to visit if you like to unwind in a resort, snorkelling is nice, beaches are nice, jet skiing, kayaking and kiteboarding available. A 3 night stay is perfect as there is little else on offer

The water is STUNNING. sunset is Stunning. Food is very good. Over the water bungalow bathroom was huge. Swimming with turtles and straight from the back deck for 5 days. The whole place needs a good tidying. The language barrier slows this quite a bit. There is NO AC In the lounge room, very disappointed in that for a Hilton. The bar staff were EXTREMELY SLOW. I was charged multiple different amounts for the same order. No night entertainment at all.

Perfect for a 2 night stay, to disconnect and connect with nature. Bungalow room was appropriate size for 4 people. Clean, basic amenities all supplied. Great balcony to watch sunrises, and sunsets. Lots of birds and sea life to see from the balcony, we saw turtles, snakes and variety of fishes. Bring supplies as there is no where to buy snacks and additional supplies. Water was crystal clear, note the shark warnings so stay close to the shore line and allocated swim location. Boat ride was 30mins, and not 10-15mins as advertised.

The View from the Beach bungalow towards the overwater bungalows was not nice because the rooms at the back looked like store rooms they might be practical but didn't match the island style the overwater bungalows present.

Loved everything, didn't want to leave.

Loved everything, didn't want to leave. Over water bungalow was so much more than expected, every room was huge, had magnificent sea views and could even cast from devices to the two giant TVs which was handy for some after dinner viewing when all of the local TV is of course in French.

The location is stunning and unique. We could see turtles and sea snakes too which was a highlight. The stuff was mostly friendly and tried to help with the numerous issues that this hotel has. However, despite their efforts, the hotel has serious issues with the kitchen and the management.

The hotel and facilities have been great. Surfing snorkeling a bit of exploring all amazing. Staff was very friendly. Food was really good and an easy lunch menu and bar menu had something for everyone.
