The room was spacious, airy and great natural light. Being really close to the beach meant I could have an early morning swim easily. As we were in the back part of the hotel it was relatively quiet, considering Baies de Citrons is renowned for it's spirited nature. Staff were always helpful and friendly. My brother and I took our 82 year old mother to New Caledonia for a holiday and the staff ensured she had a lovely stay. She really felt looked after there. Easy walking distance to a number of cafes and restaurants, bars.

We enjoy returning to Noumea. Always something new to see.

We enjoy returning to Noumea. Always something new to see. Some restaurants a bit pricey but if you shop smart youre all good. A six back if beer at the supermarket is 1200cpf 1 beer at a restaurant the same. Be smarter. Le Ponton is definitely a must and MV lounge on the beach make the best cocktails.

Noumea offers many options for visitors with its many islands to visit and great restaurants. The people, from taxi drivers to restaurants are incredibly welcoming and it delivers a nice and relaxed holiday.

A good tourist destination, plenty of things to see and do.

A good tourist destination, plenty of things to see and do. The locals were very friendly and always smiling. No sign of any contention in the main tourist area. 7 days is probably all the is required. Taxis are relatively inexpensive compared to the bus service if there is more than one. Eating out is expensive as are the general grocery prices. The local cusine is interesting and the desserts are based on tapioca derivatives and delicious. The French influence in the patisseries are wonderful. English is widely spoken in the tourist areas.but some French speaking ability is an advantage.

For a winter getaway in June/July/August, it’s a good spot to go, however if staying only in Noumea (not visiting further a field), 5nights is probably enough at this time of year. Even though you can swim, the water is still quite cool. 5 nights is enough to do most things. We had 7 nights which felt a bit too long. We did a JetSki hire at Locajet - a fantastic experience, a little trip to Duck Island, visited the small aquarium, went to a few restaurants, walked around, did a trip up Ouen Toro hill, relaxed on the beach and hit the spa. A stand out restaurant for us was Le Fun, on the beach at Lemon Bay.

Noumea is relaxing, with some great beaches and places to walk to. But it is expensive. Eating out is very expensive; even the supermarket was expensive. But the local fresh market was great - buy produce there and fresh seafood and cook for yourself!

Noumea was great as a base for us to go to the nearby islands - Isle of Pines and Ilot Maitre. We absolutely loved the locals, food, culture, beaches, snorkling and proximity to everything. We had the best holiday. It is absolute paradise. My 11 year old son and I absolutely loved it. Everything was very clean, safe and easy to organise. There were not a lot of tourists which was fantastic. Time slowed down and we thoroughly relaxed. I would highly recommend it. It is so close to Australia and a top destination to travel with children.

The hotel was very comfortable and the room size generous. The bed sheets very beautifully crispy and white :). The breakfast was the highlight with a great selection of food. Our favorite was the raw tuna and the carpaccio on the weekend. People in New Caledonia were absolutely great. The stay was just perfect starting with the sparkling in the room for the welcome and with the exceptional staff trying to help whenever possible. Highly recommend the hotel and the New Caledonia as such for a great holiday experience.

Beautifully decorated studio, great shower, had many things we needed…coffee, tea, condiments, oil, washing liquid, love having washer and dryer. Great location in the middle of Baie de citron. Outdoor eating area used every day. Unfortunately this overlooks the car park and other apartments. Secure car parking…but a little tight with a Toyota Hilux! Lovely walking along waterfront. Restaurants on the bay below the building, best bay to swim in Noumea I think!

Luxury rooms and apartments right on a soft sand beach with a large water area protected by a shark net for safe swimming, and with wonderful sunsets. It has a gym and an aqua spa with aqua fitness that is a worthwhile experience. Superb service by friendly staff fluent in French and English. The silky sea is usually warmer than the pool, but the sea view from the pool area and also from the bar and restaurant is fabulous.

The location is great. So close to the beach you can swim at and the wifi worked when on the sand out the front. The staff were friendly, I liked the size of the rooms and the shower was great. New Caledonia is expensive but the Wingsy chicken shop nearby was super reasonable for dinner. The supermarket was like 1km away and the city centre wasn’t too far to walk to either.

The view from the room was amazing. The location is great, right on Anse Vata beach and surrounded by beautiful shops. It's a 10-minute taxi ride to the centre of Noumea but we didn't need to go into the city often.
