We were doing a 4 & 5* hotel to hotel cycling trip planned ourselves. Broederenklooster blew all the other hotels out of the water. Absolutely stunning, quiet and exceptionally comfy suite. Fine dining to die for - even at breakfast!

This is a decent hotel with very basic rooms (no luxury) but very comfortable beds! Value wise it’s a great overnight stay when exploring this beautiful area of The Netherlands! Great choice of breakfast. Dogs are welcome and plenty of nice walks nearby. Of course Deventer is a must-visit, but be sure to check out the nearby villages and towns. When in Laren (Gld) you must visit the iVintage store for great bargains, you won’t be disappointed!!

We enjoyed a single night at the hotel. We had a nice dinner in the restaurant and a beer in the cosy cafe. The breakfast was good with a fine selection to choose from. The room was large and the bed was comfortable - a bit on the soft side but that is of course a matter of preference. Wouldn’t mind returning another time of year and explore the area a bit. The staff was kind, smiling and helpful all around.

This is a lovely hotel which was an old sanitorium and the separate buildings have been converted into large comfortable rooms with good showers. The buffet dinner was great value and very good. Sitting outside by the fountain was wonderful.

I was solo bike touring, booked last minute, Hotel was a perfect place to stay, secure bike parking facilities and breakfast was great, Almen is a lovely village.
