Zwolle feels like the real Netherlands, everybody on...

Zwolle feels like the real Netherlands, everybody on bicycles, lovely choice of shops, restaurants, bars and history. We needed longer really and we will be going back as it was a lot nicer than expected. Definitely worth a visit for anyone. Everything is very close and your surrounded by water so you can even take boat rides all the way around the city. There is a church which has been converted to an amazing library which is really worth visiting and another church which is still a church but it has a cafe inside of it and other points of interest. There is loads of shops that branch off in like leg form from the centre in many directions which is different but also nice as its easy to always get your bearings to where you are again. Zwolle feels like the real Netherlands, everybody on bicycles, lovely choice of shops, restaurants, bars and history. We needed longer really and we will be going back as it was a lot nicer than expected. Definitely worth a visit for anyone.

Lots of old buildings, art nouveau and older.

Lots of old buildings, art nouveau and older. Several independent shops instead of chains. Especially the book shop in the church is a good one to visit. Plenty of restaurants to pick from. We enjoyed Jaffa Jaffa a lot with different streetfood bites and dishes. Also check out the small theatre where they host a variety of shows.

It is a beautiful old star shaped defense twonand has an intimate atmosphere in the centrr. It is well restaured and the parks and vegetation well msintained. It is lively and it is clear that it is liked by toerists. I especislly liked the big church with its beautiful organ to be open with a nice bookshop. The only thing I found out of place and pretentious was the top of the modern art museum. In the museum devoted to Terborch I did not understand why they did not show his interiors and furniture in that beautiful old house.

Lovely inner city with narrow streets and old city entrance intact. Best I can recommend is the Blue Sakura Japanese restaurant who have repurposed the central church ... nice that so much of the architecture is still there.

Zwolle is a safe, lovely city, yet - there are good shopping...

Zwolle is a safe, lovely city, yet - there are good shopping possibilities. Many green areas, general cleanliness, not too much graffiti or stickers (compared to larger cities like Rotterdam). The cherry on top of the cake is a lovely cat café (where you can order a delicious cake and pet a cute cat).

Zwolle is my favourite town in the Netherlands, full of life...

Zwolle is my favourite town in the Netherlands, full of life, bars and nice buildings. Everything is in a walking distance. You can find lots of restaurants, pubs or just buy something in a supermarket and chill along the river. It's really worth a visit!

This hotel is set in a beautiful old church and looks spectacular. The rooms are modern and very tastefully furnished with boutique touches such as fresh orchids and velvet swivel armchairs. The accessories such as coffee machine, robe, slippers and beautiful toiletries were a great touch, as were the complimentary chocolates. Location was excellent - a short walk from train station and shops, cafes and restaurants all around. A lovely place.

The host, Beau, was fantastic. Generous and helpful from when we arrived on our bikes to when we left. We were a party of cyclists and he also provided secure bike storage. The hotel is right in the centre of the town with loads of food and drink facilities. The hotel even has a tapas restaurant which at the time of our visit Thurs 11/06 /26.. Was very busy with the locals. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent hotel in a villa very close to Zwolle train station but also 5 minutes walking distance from the old city centre where all attractions, including many bars and restaurants are located. The room we stayed was very nice, with all necessary equipment and comfort. Personnel is very kind and helpful.

High class establishment at an affordable price, lovely location on tree-lined avenue from the station to the town, beautiful bar and restaurant, really pleasant, helpful staff. Having their own hire bikes was very useful; it makes a great base for cycling to Werribbien-Wieden National Park.
