The last hour of the drive in from Lillehammer is stunning.

The last hour of the drive in from Lillehammer is stunning. While Andalsnes is a quiet, little town, we found the people to be very nice and the businesses very friendly. We used Andalsnes as a base for exploring Alesund and surrounding areas before heading south on the Trollstigen.

Damn cruise ships - block the view and disgorge 1000's who monopolize the gondola.... hello cruisers, there are other people in the world you know - and we're not loud & obnoxious - come all the way from New Zealand to hear loud & obnoxious - sheesh .... Americans & aussies - not all, but enough .. how do you manage to even wipe your own ar*es Other than that - utterly utterly great place indeed .... AND do the Golden Train - OMG spectacular - literally jaw dropping scenery

Unfortunately, it was very rainy so we could not take part in any activities. Although it was noted online that boat tours were available this was not the case -apparently it had been a failed enterprise. The train trip into Andalsnes was spectacular and worth the visit.

The beautiful fjord town, with the turquoise blue Rauma...

The beautiful fjord town, with the turquoise blue Rauma River winding through on one side and the towering peaks on the other. It is very well connected by train to Oslo and by bus to Trollstigen and Molde airport. It is suitable as a campsite for vacations and as a hub for trips to other places.

Excellent location, lovely view from room and appreciated the window being able to be opened ,comfy bed, all staff were very helpful and friendly, plenty of choices for breakfast. Enjoyed the photos throughout the hotel…very interesting! Having EV chargers available at the hotel was perfect.

Lovely doesn’t begin to describe this gorgeous space. It is so beautiful with every detail attended to. The bed is amazing as is the bathroom. The kitchen space has everything you could possibly need. It’s wonderful. If ever in Åndalsnes, do yourself a favour and stay here.

Very convenient central location, with a handy kitchenette to cook your own meal during a short stay in Andalsnes (we took the train there & back the next day) and so some laundry. The host also kindly allowed us to check in early on this occasion, which was kind.
