Everything. Price, cleanliness, friendly staff, free parking, comfort of bed, HUGE TV! Also, the location was great for accessing Nizwa and all the great stuff to see in the area. Staff was super nice and responsive. And it was very quiet. Free water, dates and coffee are also a nice touch.

I had an excellent stay at Swiss-Belhotel Nizwa. As a newly opened hotel, everything was fresh, modern, and exceptionally clean. The staff were outstanding—friendly, professional, and always ready to assist, providing service that exceeded expectations. The food was delicious with a great variety of options, the room was comfortable and spotless, and the Wi-Fi was fast and reliable throughout my stay. The hotel’s location is perfect, just a short distance from Nizwa Fort and Nizwa Souq, making it an ideal choice to explore Oman’s heritage. I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to staying here again.

Nizwa Old Town is fascinating.

Nizwa Old Town is fascinating. Almost all the old mud houses are still there, most of them renovated and in good shape - and inhabited. The ancient city wall has been renovated and can be visited by walking on top of the wall. The Souk is extremely nice to visit any time. A special plus for the cattle market on Friday mornings. The number one "must-see" Nizwa fort is really worth a visit - don't miss the museum, and of course the sunset view from the top of the fort.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Nizwa Fort and spent...

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Nizwa Fort and spent several hours exploring the fort and castle. It is exceptionally well refurbished and presented - with information boards at various locations and access to almost all the rooms and rooftop areas. Just when you think you have seen everything, another suite of rooms appears, or another level of the rooftop becomes accessible to you. There are toilets there and also a coffee shop together with some small gift shops. There were also some re-enactors dancing and singing in local Omani costumes who were very skilful and who moved around the fort area so that almost wherever you are you encountered them. We also explored the garden area where there were a few goats and rabbits for children to enjoy, and we saw several wells with devices for lifting the water up to ground level. This place is a must see if you come to Nizwa and would easily occupy two and a half hours of your time.

OLD TOWN IN NIZWA, WITH IT'S THE FORT, SOUK, AND THE GOAT MARKET IS DEFINITELY WORTH VISITING. WE DECIDED TO VISIT THE OLD TOWN TWICE, ONCE DURING THE DAY AND THE SECOND TIME WHEN WE COME BACK IN THE EARLY EVENING, AND AS IT WAS FRIDAY NIGHT, THE OFFICIAL LAST DAY OF THE WORKING WEEK, IT WAS FULL OF OMANI FAMILIES JUST ENJOYING THEMSELVES AT THE END OF THE WEEK, SO IT WAS JUST THE RIGHT MIX OF TOURISTS AND ORDINARY OMANIS. NIZWA AT NIGHT LOOKS AMAZING AND THE ATMOSPHERE IS INCREDIBLE, WITH THE COLOURS AND SMELLS THAT WILL FOREVER REMING ME OF THAT SPECIAL TOWN.

Nizwa is an old Capital of Oman and the centre (where the Fort is located and the Souq) is a great experience. We drove around Oman and our stay in Nizwa was probably our favourite bit (although the whole place was good fun). I particularly enjoyed the fort it was well presented and all the information was written in English.

It has a great vibe -- especially the area of Al Aqur which is being restored. A mixture of old and new but managing to retain heritage and culture. Coffee shops and cafes are plentiful - many with rooftop view. Al Aqur not really suitable for cars although there is accesss. Be aware it gets VERY busy with visitors AND locals at weekend. If you only do one thing go to goat souk from 7am on a Friday morning but book accommodation well in advance! Be sure to explore all the alleyways and walk on the wall. Enjoy!

Alaqur View Inn is a most welcoming family hotel, placed in a beautifully restored traditional house. The owners and staff are very welcoming and always ready to help with anything the visitors need. Our room was big, elegant and spotlessly clean. Nizwa in general is a fantastic city with an unforgettable atmosphere, which exceeded our expectations. It became a highlight on our Omani itinerary.

Charming and clean hotel 3 mins walk from Nizwa fort and souk. Design was a stunning tribute to the local architecture, with all the modern comforts (great A/C, many charging ports, modern bathroom, hairdryer, toiletries and coffee) very thoughtfully supplied. The attention to every detail here was incredible. Great dining options and a supermarket nearby too.

We were a norwegian family of eigth, 3 generations, that planned a 12 days holiday in Oman. We were very happy with our stay at Antique Inn. Perfect location in the old town in Nizwa. Charming rooms in several old mud brick buildings. Food was very nice and we appreciated good service. We used the pool extensively. If visiting Nizwa this is the place.
