BrazilVery spacious and comfortable room. It was clean and the shower worked well, good simple breakfast. Was the best I found for a fair price in the region. The location is a little bit off the town (30min walk) and there’s not many options for restaurants around, but easy to find tricycles in the area for really cheap price or Juire was very attentive helping us and giving us a car ride for very good value as well.

This was my first visit to Sosorgon and my whole party was delighted at the cleanliness of the entire province. Super impressive as this is not always the case. Also super well-run whale shark swimming activities that keep pricing stable and respect the animals. Top score for ecotourism.

I imagine that most people would stay due to proximity to...
I imagine that most people would stay due to proximity to the whale shark centre. Due to changes in the weather between December 2024 & March 2025 there have been 4 sightings only. Try to get a photograph of the sighting board from the whale shark centre before you book. No other real reason to visit unfortunately, victim of climate change.

Butanding!!!!!! That's what Donsol is for.
Butanding!!!!!! That's what Donsol is for. Oh for peace of mind at a beach resort too. But once you land you will be tempted to go for the whale shark viewing. When I say viewing, please remember that the best viewing is when you jump into the sea and not from the comfort of the boat. Even if you don't know how to swim, worry not they will give you snorkelling masks, life jacket and flippers. So you can jump into the open sea and earn bragging rights. Seeing these gentle giants is a privilege. Be sure you will be well taken care of by your Butanding Interaction Officer - who will accompany your group of 6 in a boat, and if you are in the water and are panicking, he will be your life-guard too and pluck you out and bring you back to the safety of the boat.
Close to Donsol is the volcano Mt Mayon. Its so huge that when you go for your Butanding, while the spotter search for the elusive whale sharks, you can marvel at Mount Mayon rising up from the hinterland beyond. In fact the volcano in the background makes for an awesome pic on a clear day.
However, I request Booking.com to try and sign up other resorts in Donsol also. I saw at least two other resorts which the Booking.com members should have as an option when they are planning their trip. One had better maintained rooms and the other had better food.

The property is located exceptionally well on top of a hill of an island, hence only accessible by boat
It is beautiful appointed in a European style
The views from the property are amazing- and it is so quiet
But the highlight must be the staff who took care of me incredibly well, nothing was too much; and the meals cooked by Chris were all delicious
I have stayed in many 5 star Hotels around the world, but this is certainly something very special
Thank you Chris and Team for an unforgettable experience

This was a lovely calm little place to stay in Donsol. Our host was very helpful, understanding when we got back late from the whale shark tour and had to pick up our bags. He put us in touch with a lovely lady called Welcy who was so helpful at arranging our whale shark tour (we saw 3!).
There was a little shared outdoor shower that suited us well.
It was a short walk into the sort of 'town' area of Legazpi and a nice homemade pizza place called Lola King.

Merilyn was a really nice host, who gave a lot of insights about Donsol.
She rents fins for the Butanding Interaction, which are free, if one does not see the gentle giants, which is a really nice offer.

Perfect location for our needs, friendly and helpful staff. Would stay again, very clean throughout all of the hotel and air conditioning was great. We enjoyed the cafe in the same building too.

The location is great not far from the town center. The homeowner was super kind and friendly who helped me a lot during my stay. Definitely recommend everyone who are coming to Donsol.
