Location is perfect, in the center of the Old Town. Very good breakfast. The room was not very big but was comfortable with additional sofa and place to sit. Bathroom size very much ok. Staff was very polite with exception of one person, I think he needs to repeat the customer service training. The hotel has very pleasant lobby, with a lot of places to sit and have coffee drink. It is also, very nicely decorated since the building used to be a cinema. Overall impression, our stay at this hotel was very satisfactory, and I would definitely stay again..

FAQs about hotels in Gdańsk

Charming Architecture And a Breath of History

Called the Amber Capital of the World, Gdańsk is the major shipping seaport and the most beautiful city along the Polish Baltic coast. It has everything from fascinating history and great architecture to a friendly atmosphere!

Also known as Danzig due to its complex past with periods of Polish, German and self-rule, the city is part of the Tricity urban area together with the port city of Gdynia and the popular spa town Sopot. It’s also a birthplace of the world-famous Solidarity movement, which helped to bring down Communist rule in Poland, initiating the end of the Cold War era.

Its charming buildings were rebuilt in a historical style after the city's near-complete destruction during World War II. You can admire the colorful townhouses of the Old Town by boat on the Motlawa River or by strolling down the popular Long Street and Long Market.

While in Gdańsk, make sure you visit the 15th-century St. Mary’s Church, the largest brick church in Europe, and make a wish at the Neptune Fountain, the city’s patron. While in town, try the legendary local Goldwasser liqueur with 22 karat gold flakes!

Whether you reach Gdańsk by train or plane, Booking.com has a variety of accommodations near the Lech Walesa Airport, the picturesque Old Town or the general city center.

I enjoyed walking around the old city.

I enjoyed walking around the old city. I found the town has a very positive vibe and definitely want to go again sometime. I went one day by train to Sopot to enjoy the beach. Perfect destination for a long weekend trip or a long stay.

Beautiful architecture, dominated by red bricks.

Beautiful architecture, dominated by red bricks. Lot of excellent museums, especially for history lovers. (Gdansk has a lot of history, for sure!). There are some free entrance days for many museums, but you should go there early and be prepared for some queues. May be better to go on other days, entrance fees are moderate anyway and there are less people, except for the most popular museums (WWII and Solidarnosc). Check museum websites and try to buy your ticket online in advance for those, because sometimes they sell out all tickets and even if not, you can avoid potentially long queues. Maritime museum is also very interesting, unfortunately with limited supply of English info leaflets. Try Polish food! For beer lovers, baltic porter is a must. Public transport is excellent, there are many ticket vending machines in stops and also in all vehicles. You must validate paper based tickets, do not forget that! But you can also pay with your card on the vehicle instead. There are several mobile apps as well, I only tried Fala, but that is bad, I do not recommend using it. Study the options before you go!

Beautifull city, with plenty of wonderful landmarks.

Beautifull city, with plenty of wonderful landmarks. Amazing history, you can still see remnants of rows of city houses destroyed in the World War 2 by the soviet and British carpet bombing. What a remarkable rebuilding effort by polish people. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes, lots of patisseries and caffes. Only a short train journey from Sopot and Gdynia.

Gdańsk is an absolutely wonderful city, full of history, beautiful architecture, unique atmosphere and great food. Three days were simply not enough to see everything, experience the city properly and taste everything it has to offer. We left with the feeling that there was still so much more to discover — a perfect reason to come back! 😄

Gdańsk is one of Poland’s most impressive cities, known for its maritime history, colourful architecture and remarkable resilience. During World War II, around 85–90% of its historic centre was destroyed. After the war, the city was carefully rebuilt, with streets, churches and merchant houses restored to reflect its original character. Today, walking through the Old Town, it is hard to believe that much of it once lay in ruins. Gdańsk is more than a beautiful destination, it is a powerful symbol of survival, reconstruction and pride.

It’s a nice friendly hotel, maybe needs updating, but it offers such great value, who cares. Rooms are comfortable, breakfast is great, and whilst not central, just 5 minutes walk to a train station with regular services to Gdansk, Sopot & Gdynia. KOLEO App makes buying train tickets easy. Easy to get to from airport, just one change on the train, for about £1.20. Best value for money you will find in Gdansk
