Great staff throughout! Clean hotel top to bottom. Nice rooms and common areas. Nice hot tubs,sauna and pool (cool this time of year but open) and elevator. Good location. Street parking was easy and inexpensive (payment only required during week days). Restaurants and cafes easy walking distance. Able to drive right to front door to deposit luggage even though in a restricted zone. Excellent breakfast.

A very nice, new property, beautifully decorated, right in the heart of Angra. Modern yet maintaining the charm and details of the original building, so you get a sense of Angra's history. Wonderful communication from the owner Raquel, she even got us a last-minute dinner reservation for New Year's Eve! And the breakfast was personalised, abundant and delicious, with very attentive staff (thank you Lu!). Parking on the street was easy to find. Entry/key pick-up was seamless. Almost felt like our own private place in the city. We will definitely return!

The location is superb, overlooking the ocean and very peaceful. The facilities are impeccable - nicely decorated and spacious rooms, very well equipped gym and a spa with a beautiful sauna. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive, especially Cecília at the front desk (who is also a yoga teacher). And breakfast is served in a room with a stunning view by the most amazing human Sérgio, who prepares everything beautifully and makes the experience so much more enjoyable with a little touch of entertaining conversation!

Grand hotel that I think has only recently opened. Lovely views of Monte Brasil. Has a swimming pool. Spacious airy feel to the place and interesting history. Staff are very helpful, professional and friendly. Very personalised feel to the place due to high staff/guest ratio; were able to assist me a lot. Nice breakfast. Large area in front of entrance to park car.

We loved Angra.

We loved Angra. It was walkable, full of wonderful restaurants and friendly people. We enjoyed being with locals for the Friday night festa branca. Parking is difficult, so be prepared for that. We loved dining at Tasca das Tias, Beira Mar, Taberna Roberto and Quinta do Martelo. We had drinks at Marina Grill, enjoying the harbor scenes. Don't miss going out to whale watch! We used Water4Fun, who were wonderful.

One of the best hostels I've stay at, in addition to the great location was the great layout & design. Best each dorm room had its own bathroom. The cleanliness was excellent plus the wonderful breakfast.

It is a small and beautiful town.

It is a small and beautiful town. I liked the laid-back town. Many outdoor places to sit and relax. The town promotes reading. So, books are everywhere, in their post office, they sell newly released books. If only spend time in Angra do Heroismo, you don't need a car. There are many restaurant choices but cannot be too picky. We didn't spend our time for shopping much since our main activities were hiking. Mount Brazil is walking distance from the town. (If you want to go to the peak, it is a bit of hike.) Nice view from there. There are wild chickens and deer. Also, cat sanctuary.

The hotel arranged a 1/2 day tour with Carolina that was fantastic as we got to experience the Lava tunnels, deep volcanic caves and swimming in lava pools as well as gorgeous views Fun, fact filled in excellent english

It was great authentic experience to visit this largest city...

It was great authentic experience to visit this largest city in Terceira island. It is very cosy, has lovely places to visit for the hike and little "zoo" and free roaming cat place like on the Monte Brasil, you can enjoy the coffee with the great Ocean view at the end of the street in the Book shop Cafe, the town itself is tranquil and interesting with it's past and present. Just bear in mind - you will barely find the flat place when you walk - every street or path is going uphill or downhill.

Terceira is a beautiful island, and the jewel is Angra D Heroismo. A great place to unwind with good food, great natural trails, breathtaking scenery, welcoming locals and an excellent culinary scene.

The hotel is superb and the staff take great care. The breakfast is very complete and good. The parking lot is easily accessible and we always found space there. Access from the outside is very practical (in the event of a day of hiking for example). The swimming pool accessible all day (and night) is very appreciable and the view is magnificent over Angra do Heroismo. The rooms are very quiet and have a small terrace.

Fantastic view from the balcony (see photo). We felt cosy inside while watching the stormy weather and sea. We really enjoyed the indoor swimming pool which is free for guests to use, beautiful, relaxing and clean. We chose the hotel for this amenity as it was poor weather outside. Breakfast was good with a variety of local delicacies and was suitable for vegetarians.
