A very nice, new property, beautifully decorated, right in the heart of Angra. Modern yet maintaining the charm and details of the original building, so you get a sense of Angra's history. Wonderful communication from the owner Raquel, she even got us a last-minute dinner reservation for New Year's Eve! And the breakfast was personalised, abundant and delicious, with very attentive staff (thank you Lu!). Parking on the street was easy to find. Entry/key pick-up was seamless. Almost felt like our own private place in the city. We will definitely return!

Grand hotel that I think has only recently opened. Lovely views of Monte Brasil. Has a swimming pool. Spacious airy feel to the place and interesting history. Staff are very helpful, professional and friendly. Very personalised feel to the place due to high staff/guest ratio; were able to assist me a lot. Nice breakfast. It was all perfect! Alberto is very kind and caring about guests. Breakfast style is awasome, with tasty food. Location is great - few meters to beautiful view point. If it can be even more perfect, it is their cat who is adding to make this place absolutely top! Thank you for this experience and great time I had. If I ever come back I book again.

We loved Angra.

We loved Angra. It was walkable, full of wonderful restaurants and friendly people. We enjoyed being with locals for the Friday night festa branca. Parking is difficult, so be prepared for that. We loved dining at Tasca das Tias, Beira Mar, Taberna Roberto and Quinta do Martelo. We had drinks at Marina Grill, enjoying the harbor scenes. Don't miss going out to whale watch! We used Water4Fun, who were wonderful.

Praia da Vitória is a coastal town brimming with outdoor activities, cultural events, and points of great tourist and historical interest. It's an ideal place to relax on vacation, surrounded by the region's natural beauty. You can find clear waters and several shops in this tranquil town. The town preserves its heritage, with many buildings, churches, and monuments surrounding it – each imbued with the history that has shaped the place for hundreds of years. In terms of access, Praia da Vitória is very close to Lajes Airport and about 20 kilometers from Angra do Heroísmo. Praia Grande has the largest sandy area on the island. It is located in the bay area, where many enjoy it for windsurfing. Despite being very central, this beach is quite spacious and doesn't get too crowded, so it's easy to find a quiet spot to lie in the sun. It has been awarded the Blue Flag and has good infrastructure.

There is not a lot going on in this town.

There is not a lot going on in this town. Most visitors spend only an hour or two at the shore. For the extra day Trilha Rocha do Chambra is an inland hike closer to Biscoitos than Angra. The shore walk to Quatro Ribeiras gives some good shore views. In late May it was cloudy every day; but no rain. There is one very food restaurant in town: Botequim o Baghulho.

Go stay somewhere nicer on Terceira.

Go stay somewhere nicer on Terceira. I only stayed in the very windy village of Lajas for one night to be closer to the airport for my very early flight. There are some restaurants here but don't expect much. Praia do Vitoria is nearby if you like to hear airplanes overhead.

Its a small island formed from multiple volcano calderas.

Its a small island formed from multiple volcano calderas. There are plenty of fantastic viewpoints. Its much less taken over by tourism than other bigger islands so you really feel authentic. Food and drink is very cheap and even excursions/trips are fairly affordable. Car hire etc has less choice than a bigger island. We hired a 125cc scooter which was a great way to explore the island. Many of the shops/bars speak English, but plenty of the locals do not. If you can learn a little Portuguese before you go it will definitely help.

Being close to the airport, you can even walk there. It's right next to the beach, with access to water sports, bars, restaurants, and supermarkets. Plus, you can easily get around using public transport. The receptionist who helped me with the booking process was very helpful and professional. I highly recommend this accommodation.

I really liked Biscoitos because of the natural pools and the cafe where you can sit and enjoy the sunset. It also has bakeries and restaurants and a wine museum. The location is great for visiting the whole island. I would definitely choose to stay in Biscoitos again.

It is a small and beautiful town.

It is a small and beautiful town. I liked the laid-back town. Many outdoor places to sit and relax. The town promotes reading. So, books are everywhere, in their post office, they sell newly released books. If only spend time in Angra do Heroismo, you don't need a car. There are many restaurant choices but cannot be too picky. We didn't spend our time for shopping much since our main activities were hiking. Mount Brazil is walking distance from the town. (If you want to go to the peak, it is a bit of hike.) Nice view from there. There are wild chickens and deer. Also, cat sanctuary.
