Well located having established the location with the owner prior to arrival by bus. We commenced walking the Camino Nascente from Crato. With a nearby supermarket & eateries and a well-equipped kitchen we had everything we needed & it suited our purpose for the 1 night. The unit is spacious with 3 bedrooms, old-style homely decor, clean and comfortable.

Crato is a quiet and quite nice village.

Crato is a quiet and quite nice village. The people are very friendly, and the village is worth visiting, especially the location Flor da Rosa, a bit further north. I also suggest trying the local empadas de galinha, which you can find opposite the Filarmónica do Crato.

I know the village, as I was born and raised in another...

I know the village, as I was born and raised in another small village nearby, Seda. It has everything you need from shops to bank, pharmacies, swimming pool , cafes, petrol stations and it is very close to a main road, A23, which can take you everywhere in Portugal. Perfect if you look for a place where you can switch off your brain from work for a few days. When there try a wonderful delicacy called Tecolameco, divine.

From start to finish, our stay was absolutely wonderful. The staff were exceptional—attentive, friendly, and always willing to go the extra mile to meet our needs. We had an early morning checkout, and they thoughtfully prepared a delicious packed breakfast for our departure. We also loved exploring the beautiful property, enjoying the local wildlife, and taking part in the complimentary wine tour offered to guests. It was a truly memorable experience, and we would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.

All I expected and more. Booked for honeymoon, had a bottle of Prosecco and local patisserie in the room at no extra cost, 5 star staff, the hotel itself being an old Monastery and location makes it perfect for pretty much any occasion you can think off. Definitely will be booking again.

Hotel was great and the food in the restaurant marvelous. Very delicious and typical from that region, Alentejo. Small pool yet very good. Good size for the number of rooms in the hotel. Comfortable bedroom and hotel common rooms. Will mark it as a regular 2 or 3 day yearly stays.

Warm welcome Elizabeth couldnt do enough. Beautuful hotel 300 years old with stunning views at breakfast. Will definitely come back. Staff were so polite and helpful.
