The property sits in front of the ocean with a balcony. You can see the sunrise and the beautiful streets of Machico. It was a perfect location and not far from major cities. The drive to the villa is simple and is near a few restaurants and the supermarket. The villa had everything we needed and was perfect for a mother-daughter stay. The host was so kind and generous during our time in Machico. The host was communicative and made sure our stay was as nice as possible.

The apartment is big and spacious and having a spot in a garage right across the street was great. Everything you need is within walking distance, shops and banks, cafes and restaurants and of course, the beach.. there is even a friendly cafe right downstairs in the building. The balcony up on the roof is great for mountain sunsets. I found it to be a great base for local hikes. Boca do Risco was great!

There's a very nice fancy restaurant (O Pescador) at the beach. Little bit expensive, but well worth it. Parking is difficult to find, though. The 45 min drive to Pico do Arieiro is a must early morning to see the sunrise.

Machico is a perfectly sized small town.

Machico is a perfectly sized small town. Everything is close by, it’s relatively clean, and there are several interesting restaurants. The airport is nearby, and many places can be explored on foot. It’s a great starting point for exploring that part of the island.

A nice town that combines mountains and beaches. It is really close to the airport, which is a plus. The downside is the weather. Out of an 8-day stay, it rained 4 or 5 days, while in other parts of the island, the weather was much better. My advice for people staying in Machico is not to judge the weather based on what it is in Machico.

Very beautiful city.

Very beautiful city. It is small, has all the amenities close together. It has a beautiful sand beach, which is not that common. Machico is also a great starting point for various trails, which are not that crowded and offer amazing views. It is also very close to the airport, which is really practical.

Machico is a small town with not much to see.

Machico is a small town with not much to see. The airport is 5 minutes away by car, while Funchal 20-30 minutes. Few hours or half a day is more than enough to explorer this tiny town and it's small beach, unless your accomodation in this town.

Machico isn’t just a town—it’s the place that makes you fall in love with Madeira instantly. Machico is my favourite town in Madeira. Surrounded by mountains, it offers breathtaking views, a beautiful beach, a long seaside promenade, and a deep sense of history. Quiet and peaceful, yet rich in scenery, Machico is perfect for those who love incredible landscapes, relaxing beach walks, and scenic hiking routes. This place captured my heart from the very first sight—and I truly love this town.

Spacious apartment, but very sparsely furnished. Great views, but remember that comes at a price: you'll need a rental car for sure, however, you would need to be a very confident / competent driver to cope with the steep gradients and narrow passages and uphill starts etc. Driving in Madeira (including to this property) is not for the faint hearted!

Very charming interior, and overall fun-looking hotel. The pool area is great, got lots of reading done. It's easy to walk around the cozy city of Machico. We could always park our car in the parking lot across the street. Very comfortable hotel with good breakfast that easily lets you explore Madeira.
