The apartment was very clean and comfortable. There was everything I needed for my stay. Kitchen was well equipped with coffee machine, microwave, stovetop, and many more. This was a lovely home in Madalena with some historical background. The hosts were very responsive, the home lovingly cared for, and was decorated with a calm and relaxing atmosphere. A perfect spot to explore Pico. The kitchen was well equipped, there is a small laundry (perfect!), a front porch and back patio, large tv, and a comfy bed. Everything you need in town is walking distance and there is ample parking across the street or on the street in front. I hope to come back to Pico and would 100% stay here again and I recommend a stay here to my fellow travelers.

The house had everything we needed and was comfortable. Located in a quiet neighborhood and close to everything. Great view of Pico mountain. We enjoyed the yard as well and appreciated the attention the host put to prepare the space. The host is very kind and friendly. Highly recommend and will be back for sure.

This place left me speechless, so speechless I struggle finding the words to describe its beauty! With the turquoise ocean at your doorstep and glorious Pico mountain on the other side, your only dilemma will be which view to savor 😊 The villa itself it spacious, beautiful, modern and comfortable. Remote enough to provide perfect privacy for a getaway, yet very central and close to the center. Taisiya, as an amazing host, went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and stayed available, helpful and super friendly throughout. This is not just an accommodation, this is an experience in itself. All I can say is thank you to the hosts for making this place available to others and sharing this beauty! I look forward to being back💙

This is our favourite hotel in Horta. It’s a grand, historic place that is also a landmark for the sea port. Home of the transatlantic cable, the flying clippers, and sailors from around the world. It’s our 3rd stay here, very consistent , great breakfast, and perfect views of the harbour. It’s close to the ferry terminal , and to the beautiful piers that berth some of the most loved tall ships. Service at the hotel is outstanding. And don’t forget to have a swim in the lovely pool (indoor and out). We are already looking forward to our next stay here. Thank you to all the staff.

The marked walk I did from Prainha gave a great deal of...

The marked walk I did from Prainha gave a great deal of variety whilst not at all busy. Casa dos Vulcões at Lajido was well worth doing for the interactive experience but you do need to book in advance. Restaurants in the centre of town don't always have a free table but I had to problem with the ones to the south of the town. I eat at Taberna Do Canal and A Parisiana which were both good.

I went there to scuba dive and Madelena is a perfect location between two excellent Dive Shops: CWAzores and Twin Peaks. I recommend O Cinco for food. Madalena is a perfect location to stage a vacation to have access to all the other towns, museums and activities.

Madalena is an awesome place to spend time in. You can book acitivities with agencies near the port. There are a couple of really good restaurants. Pico wine is amazing! During my stay in Pico (may) the weather was extremely changing and it was very hard to plan activities such a hiking Mt. Pico that depends on the weather. The temperature could feel like 30c while it was sunny and felt like 10c when cloudy and rainy. The same goes for the wind. Averall worth the experience tho. :)

Madelena is a small town but with a few good restaurants and bathing places. It is right under Pico mountain. Access to Pico is very proximate There is an interesting coastal walk heading out of the town and great examples of the lava stone enclosures where the vines are grown. In the town there is a lovely wine bar serving wine tastings with a regional cheese platter.

Really good location if you don't have a car.

Really good location if you don't have a car. Really close to the airport and ferry terminal with plenty restaurants and a supermarket within walking distance. If you're planning on climbing Pico, then having a bit of spare time is a good idea, as the weather may mean you have to change the date. It took me three attempts to get a good day!

I had not been back to Pico Island since 1998 during the...

I had not been back to Pico Island since 1998 during the year of the earthquake in the Azores. Since that time the Azores has certainly become quite different but in a positive way. This is a small quaint village that offers you all of the modern comforts to explore the beauty that is The Azores. Despite the modern amenities it still keeps it's old world charm. Lest we forget, the wine and the food. Magnificent!

Great traditional house built with lava stone in the middle of the amazing volcano stone based vineyards with great direct view to the volcano and partly to the sea - the house has everything you need to have a great time - there is a nice place outside to sit and chill - there is enough space for parking - the distance to the city Madalena is around 10 min by car.

The apartment is very spacious (photos don't do justice), beautifully decorated, incredibly comfortable and fully equipped. Plus: the convenience of free parking and its location in Madalena center. The host was very responsive and helpful, so this is the perfect place to stay on Pico!
