I visited the city of Craiova in August and noticed that it was rather quiet. My Bolt driver confirmed that the city has been very quiet this year. The Old Town only started to come alive after 8:00 PM. I visited the Art Museum, which was truly a wonderful experience. The museum is housed in a building of great historical significance; it is well worth a visit. I also took a walk through Romanescu Park, which is a truly special experience. It is a large, beautifully maintained park with wide paths and attractively landscaped areas. I had a meal at the Iberico Restaurant on Romain Rolland Street; the food was truly good, and the service was good too.

Craoiva is .... odd! But wonderful.

Craoiva is .... odd! But wonderful. I visited for the Shakespeare Festival, and the transformation of the city into a celebration of this ubiquitous British playwright is amazing....THe programming is insane....Lots of kid-friendly stuff, along with hardcore academia, along with music and art...it's an experience.

Beautiful and civilized city ,full of classic buildings, clean everywhere and safe, suitable for relax and enjoy the culture. We enjoyed the parks the pedestrian streets, the car drivers behaviour. The only thing i didnt like was the old sovietic type blocks.

The Christmas market is a scam!

The Christmas market is a scam! Buy food at other restaurants, better and bigger portions for less! Ribs House in particular was a great restaurant, very friendly and welcoming with amazing food, must try the Papanași.

Craiova is a beatufil city with a great combination of...

Craiova is a beatufil city with a great combination of modern and old. You can easily find any and all modern amenities - top-notch public transport, shopping centers and malls, exquisite restaurants and fancy hotels. If you have the time to take a stroll through town, you'll be amazed by all the perfectly preserved and renovated old buildings, dozens of cultural monuments and greatly maintained parks and public areas. The main downside is the over-abundance of cars - traffic's a pain! Good thing their public transport is very convenient and the city is very walkable!

Craiova is really only worth visiting during the Christmas...

Craiova is really only worth visiting during the Christmas market. Aside from that, from what I could see, there isn’t much that’s particularly worth visiting or seeing. Nicolae Romanescu Park might be worth a visit, but definitely not in winter — there is very little foliage and too many birds on the branches, which creates a real chance of getting hit by droppings. There is also a zoo in the park, and the animals can be seen from the park.

Nice small building walking distance to the pedestrian area (20 min). A number of parking slots offered by the hotel. Big well organised bathroom and nice room. In the price there was offered on small bottle of wine and one of sparkling wine. The best hotel I ever stayed in Craiova (I don't know how is Ramada as it's out of my budget) IMPORTANT: I have booked this hotel as there was a special price for the late check in with a 40% discount on the listed price, otherwise I could not take it.

5 Continents is a lovely hotel in the very center of Craiova, I absolutely loved the friendly team (reception, bar, restaurant, etc). In fact, I would give 10 stars to the team of the hotel if I could! Perfect location, super clean rooms, very good breakfast.
