Bohinj is a beautiful place.

Bohinj is a beautiful place. Getting around is easy on buses or bike. At some bus stops you can buy a ticket ahead, else pay an attendant before getting on or pay the driver. We had previously read cash was required for buses, but in our experience, they only took credit cards (cash not allowed). We biked up to Slap Savica (waterfall) and had an excellent lunch at the restaurant there. There is a boat that goes from one end of the lake to the other, if you don't care to walk or bike or bus. The public transportation is all very reasonably priced, (except the gondola, but it really does save your knees!).

Excellent apartment! Very clean, modern, and well-equipped. The host was very kind and helpful. Great location close to the lake, with convenient parking. Fresh towels and everything we needed were always available. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend it! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Bohinj is such a beautiful area!

Bohinj is such a beautiful area! I traveled here solo and stayed for 3 days. If you are looking for somewhere less touristic to relax and enjoy time in nature, this is definitely the place for you. The town is very easy to get around and is extremely safe! The crystal clear lake water is great for swimming, paddle boarding, canoeing, and laying out on the shore. It is a quiet town with many amazing restaurants and cafes to choose from. I noticed they had live music at hotel Bohinj on Saturdays! And most employees spoke English and were very hospitable which was great! If you are looking for a good hike, Mostnica Gorge & Voje Valley at Triglav is a great one that features a hike next to a bright blue river/canyon system, through a beautiful gorge, and then a waterfall at the end of the hike. It is great for any level of hiker! I will always cherish the times I spent in Bohinj!

Bohinj was a much better stay than the more touristic Lake...

Bohinj was a much better stay than the more touristic Lake Bled. There is a wonderful trail around the lake. Due to a knee injury, I decided to rent a kayak and spend a couple hours touring the lake instead. After, I took the tram up to the top of Mt. Vogel where I found a small wedding taking place. What a magical day!!
