We were booked to stay at this property but minutes before we booked apparently another party did a walk in and secured the room before the owners managed to take it off-line for the day. When we arrive, we were told that the hotel had been double booked. Luckily the owners owned another building just at the bottom of the road that was brand new modern and clean. The owner refunded us the difference in the property and for the fact that this new property didn’t have breakfast facilities, but that wasn’t the problem the next morning we walked just down the road and found a rather nice local restaurant that made us a great breakfast If the owner recommends you to a restaurant for the evening, follow his advice we went there. The food was absolutely superb on a great location on the river, but take your bug spray as you will be eaten alive from mosquitoes. If you are not well prepared otherwise you can sit inside like we did. The owners and staff are very friendly, and when we left even brought us over a huge bunch of bananas for our journey, which was much appreciated

อวบอิ๋มรีสอร์ท (OuabIm) is a resort with separated cabins, which is pleasant. The cabins are quiet. WiFi was good (important near the mountains). Refrigerator, aircon, fan, strong hot water. Everything clean. Location is an easy fifteen-minute walk from the main street in Phu Kradueng town, where there is a big line-up of sit-down open-air food places, a 7-Eleven, other stores, and an excellent coffee shop (บ้านเค้ก กาแฟสด) that makes really good cakes on the premises. The staff is not English-speaking. They use Google translate on their phones, but are efficient. They did my laundry, and found me transport. If you are climbing Phu Kradueng mountain, this is a good base. Also, one of the staff ladies gave me some bananas as I left!

I stayed in a little separate cottage. Good mattress, OK pillows (for a Westerner), plenty of plugs, plenty of light, desk, refrigerator, bathroom good. The resort is very pleasant, with a garden setting. There is a restaurant for breakfast. The facility will cook dinner. The pad khraphao was good! The staff is efficient, and arranged a ride for me to the next stage of my journey through Loei. (The property also has tents for backpackers. I mistakenly reserved a tent, not a cottage, but the efficient staff corrected my error.) The owner also takes care of rescue cats and dogs. For people who don't like cats or dogs, don't worry, they are well-behaved and not instrusive!! But I do, so this was another pleasant aspect of the resort.
