Very spacious room with good sized bath. Really, everything was of a high standard and the location was just outside of town and quiet. Nearby local restaurants were available and inexpensive. A very short but comfortable stay.

There just isn't very much to do.

There just isn't very much to do. We needed a night stopover before going to the island and our hotel was nice. Had a tasty pad-thai from the one place that was open and a couple of beers from a very nice bar next to a May-Thai gym. The few streets around the river are lovely and you do get the sense that you're suddenly away from all the tourists and in real Thailand. It is also extremely hot so not particularly pleasant to walk around either. At 8pm everything was shut down, including the night market.

Make sure you stay in town.

Make sure you stay in town. There is no night life, but Trat has great food and a wonderful market. Getting around Trat is not easy, you will have to walk. There are moto taxis but not always where you need them.

Trat is a sleepy provincial town at the edge of the country...

Trat is a sleepy provincial town at the edge of the country bordering Cambodia. Bus is the primary way to get here from Bangkok so this disuades people who feel they must fly to enjoy their vacation on limited time. If going to one of the islands it is likely you will have to stay overnight to go to Cambodia or the islands. Good market, there are places to get good coffee. People are very friendly.

Laid back small town with plenty of interesting choices for food. Very welcoming people, nice and smiling. There's perhaps not much to do in the evenings, but during daytime you can walk around discovering traditional Thai food and snacks at very affordable prices. On Saturday afternoon and evening there's a very popular and nice street market. The small lake or water reservoir features a great sunset view and a walkway all around the perimeter.

people who want to see Thailand without over tourism and look for friendly people and inclusion in the Thai daily life find here the perfect province town. Cultural harmony . For night live , party and bucket list people , they better skip Trat city.

Check your location.

Check your location. The road can be very difficult even for good, experienced drivers. Parts are very steep and narrow with sharp bends and you need to use first gear in places. No mention of this in the adverts and another time we would use local transport as they are used to the conditions and know the roads, especially dangerous when dark and always dark after 6pm so be aware! Very nice beaches and food and some areas have beach entertainment with a live fire show in the evenings. Plenty of activities, we enjoyed kayaking on the beach. There are viewpoints marked for excellent photos. Would like to stay longer next time.

Kaew is an exceptional host! She takes great care of her guests and will guide you with really good recommendations of restaurant, spa, taxi, etc. The hotel is ideally located, in the heart of Trat and in a very quiet street. The rooms are very nice, clean with a cozy and careful decoration, we can only recommend spending a night or more! Starting our trip to go to the islands at Rimklong Hotel was a real pleasure! Thank you so much.

Nice modern and clean Tuu is an amazing owner, so friendly Very good coffee and toast for breakfast The bedroom was so comfortable with good quiet air conditioning Tuu gave us a great recommendation to visit a local restaurant The walk along the river and around the small town was nice The Trat museum was worth visiting, very interesting Tuu arranged a taxi and ticket for the ferry to the islands.

Quirky, comfortable and in a great location for the Saturday street market that is not to be missed. I also had the best Thai green curry I've eaten in Thailand at the Artist Place restaurant! And that's coming from a chef! Thank you for your warm hospitality.
