Kala, the innkeeper, was extremely helpful in forwarding my medication I forgot in the room. I don't now what I would have done without her professional help. The room was very clean and quiet.

What Guests Said About Big Sur:

Beautiful area.

Beautiful area. Would recommend driving in from the south or north instead of staying in Big Sur. The available facilities are overpriced for the type of accommodation you get. All food is expensive and mediocre. But a beautiful place to hike. One day should be enough to experience the place

Don't miss Big Sur! A truly beautiful spot.

Don't miss Big Sur! A truly beautiful spot. A highlight for us was the hike around Lobos Point where the wildlife is abundant and the scenery breathtaking. Eating out was pricey but we stayed at Big Sur campground and cabins where we able to cater for ourselves. During April the roads were reasonably quiet, making the drive along the coast super easy.

Big Sur was a lovely place to visit.

Big Sur was a lovely place to visit. I hike a lot in Mt Tam area because of the views. But the Ewoldsen trail at Julia Pfeiffer Burns state park was a real gem. If you have to hike one trail in Big Sur, I would do this one. Nice meandering trail with a great view on top. Pretty remote with no cell service so be prepared to just enjoy the moment and the scenary.

Beautiful sceneries driving down highway 1 to get to the lodge. Once there, loved the location (surrounded by large trees and forest) and the room's layout. Its a shame there was no internet connection, and no television in the room. So nothing much to do after dinner.

Big Sur is absolutely stunning.

Big Sur is absolutely stunning. You must have a car to get around, and wifi is very limited. We stopped at a restaurant along the road that had no wifi either. I would absolutely return. It's a great place to unplug and connect with nature.

What isn’t there to like about Big Sur?

What isn’t there to like about Big Sur? Beautiful forests and oceans, lots of hiking opportunities, and just all-around peaceful, at least it was in November. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to get away from it all for a while and chill out.

Lovely hotel in the mountains. Good brunch on Sunday. Enjoyed the walk to Pfeiffer Falls. Great pool area. Cabins were comfortable and large fan in the room was welcome. Very peaceful and quiet plus no cell/wifi coverage or TVs so a real switch off to relax.

Being on the Big Sur Park was excellent for all the trails that we did, comfy cottage, but if you want luxury or good WiFi don’t stay here, the one restaurant and cafe were good enough for our 2 night stay.

The cabins are amazing. Lots of room and clean. Great bedding, not too soft like many other hotels. And the location is simply gorgeous, near a river
