I miss understood. I had a service dog. What I read was I was not going to be charges & I wasn't. But somehow? They did not know about my service dog. 2nd, the first room I got had a leak from the ceiling. I told them about it and they was so apologetic about it. Such sweet people. They got me another room instantly. I saw that they attended to the leak issue immediately. Shows me they care about their business. They made me feel special how fast they got me into another room. . How they told me where to find the pet area, ice, laundry and computer room. I would recommend there motel and I would book again with them. The view of mountains was breath taking.

Canon City sits in a valley surrounded by mountains. It is the gateway to the Royal Gorge Park. Nice walkable main street and historic buildings one block off the 4-lane highway through town. All the usual fast food options along the main highway.

This is a small town with some intersting things to do.

This is a small town with some intersting things to do. We took a ride on the Royal Gorge railroad. We took the narrow drive with a view of the city. We didn't have a car so transporation was spotty. There seems to be only one Uber driver who took us on the narrow city drive but we mostly relied on taxis. We ate at a BBQ place within walking distance of the Railroad station.

Loved the first class lunch on royal gorge train in Vista car- fun ride. Great service. The days inn was a good price, clean and warm pool. Enjoyed the bar across the street and live music, and the Mos bar on main street. Town was pretty calm, air clean, nice weather. A fun short scenic drive above the town is fun to get a great view.

The people were welcoming wherever we went.

The people were welcoming wherever we went. We found a nice place to have dinner and visited the Winery at Holy Cross Abbey. We sampled delicious wines and purchased a bottle. We also stopped at historic downtown and had a nice visit to The Artists' Gallery. The owner, Sammy Burman, and Holly Thompson were so friendly and helpful!

We really enjoyed Canon City.

We really enjoyed Canon City. It is a clean town with friendly people. The downtown area is well maintained and active with local sidewalk dining at most eateries. A good selection of national businesses is available on the other end of town.

Ask to see your room before you sign on, room may not have...

Ask to see your room before you sign on, room may not have any decent view and or enough room. Ours certainly did not. (We should have asked to see the room prior to our stay! Maybe another room would be larger and/or have nicer views. Especially room 210 and certainly not worht $200 per nite!!

The lady who works the night shift (short lady with blonde hair) is absolutely amazing! I have stayed here at the hotel and every time she has been so helpful! This time I was given a later check out due to issues with my flight & this was done free of charge. These guys just can’t do enough for you!!!

I loved the hotel in the past but not having the hot tubs was a bummer. The breakfast was nice I use to love the biscuits and gravy but they don’t serve it anymore I wish it was more amenities for the price
