I only had to walk across the street and parking lot for my doctor's appointment. The bar was open and served food, which was a relief for me and my son. We didn't have to leave the hotel to eat. The food was great. I was amazed how beautiful the inside of the hotel was especially with the running water structure. My son will be returning with his family.

Setting on the lake was great with a firepit & chairs. We had a group of 6 with no couples, comfortable sleeping, very clean, all kitchen supplies for cooking. Plenty of room to spread out with the backyard overlooking the lake. Comfortable sleeping, easy access. This was really perfect for our stay and highly recommended.

Perfect location with a deck off of the living room and over the lake. I loved watching the water fowl and hearing their chatter. Big and spacious with all the comforts. Great kitchen with lots of amenities. The King-size bed was super comfortable.

There was availability right when I needed it and the price was super reasonable for the accommodations. You get the whole 2 bedroom house with a large back yard that goes right to the lake with your own dock and another patio-like space right at the waters edge. A great place for some fabulous pictures with the lake in the background. The kitchen is huge and is stocked with most of your basic cooking essentials as far as cookware and dishes go. You do need to bring all of your own ingredients that are needed in order to prepare your meal but there is adequate space to keep it and there is a grocery store close by in case you forgot something or just want to do your shopping when you get there. The house is fairly easy to find and they make check in super easy. We got there right at the 9 o'clock hour so there was noone there to check us in, however there was a key in a lock box for us and were able to get right in when once we got there.

Tried a new lodging location.. The Lamp lighter Inn. Nice, if you get a room with a lake view. Upper floor has a balcony to sit out & view the lake & pool. Also tried a new dining option, only open a week..The Wein & Stein, with a deck & lake view, & diner-stylet inside. Menu is German-style, with a nice selection (brat plate was great) and an interesting & varied selection of beer & wine. A great new dining addition for Clearlake!

Clear Lake (or "Lower Lake"?) is beautiful.

Clear Lake (or "Lower Lake"?) is beautiful. Very serene and pristine. A hidden gem at the top of a mountain which is totally unexpected ! There are many eateries around I personally recommend the Thai Restaurant, "Kaurs"(?), in a park about 1/2 mile from Lamplight Motel Lodging. Super delicious Thai food and super view to the little "harbour". A word about Walmart up the street. Some employees there are very rude and have anger management issue. Just unhappy people who vent/ abuse public customers. Unfortunate it is what it is.

It's an interesting town with interesting people.

It's an interesting town with interesting people. The lake gets a green algae from July on and you can't go in the water and it smells really bad. Not a lot of restaurants or bars. Some unsafe areas, beware.

The size of the apartment was good.

The size of the apartment was good. Needed to be cleaner and the carpet in the bedroom needs to be changed. The rest of the flooring is updated and nice. The furniture needs to be updated, but the bed was comfortable. Needs TLC. I liked the kitchen.

Unfortunately, Clearlake in the Austin Resort area as a...

Unfortunately, Clearlake in the Austin Resort area as a whole was rundown and depressing compared to my husband's childhood memories. It has seen better days. Though rated well in TripAdvisors, the Main Street Bar & Grill and Horatio's Grottos left much to be desired. The food was just okay and the facilities, themselves, were rundown and cafeteria style. When you are served salad dressing in styrofoam cups, you know you're not in a classy restaurant!
