I love this area because you are close to a larger city but it feels much safer. There is plenty to do nearby as the local lake, Lake Isabelle and Rye Colorado along with other site seeing in the area. Close to restaurants, gas stations etc. Colorado City is a robust small town where the people I felt are very friendly and laid back. I love their small grocery store as well. The deer and other animals in Rye which is about 6 miles is very awesome to see. The countryside is very beautiful as you get closer to the mountains. There is a really nice rest stop across the street when traveling in that area. Both gas stations have excellent coffee and food to go. Its so quiet at night, what a great place to unwind. Don't get in a hurry enjoy it. We went into Pueblo and ate with my dad who lives there at Texas Roadhouse. My favorite is the chicken breast with cheese, onions and mushrooms with baked sweet potato. Dad loves the fried fish. I also bought excellent fresh pies (cream and fruit filled) at Schusters Banquet Bakery. You cannot miss this adventure plus they have amazing filled donuts. If you need a haircut check out 4th Street Barber and Styling - ask for Tony he is really good, great price and he loves fishing. Plus he knows all the best eats around. In Pueblo there is a beautiful park on 15th St. You can drive thru and on Fridays there are truck vendors out there with amazing food options. I'm sure there is more to this area but I need more days to explore.

The hotel staff was AMAZING! LOVED THEM!

The hotel staff was AMAZING! LOVED THEM! We had an intimate wedding reception there for my son's wedding. Stunning views and minutes away from Bishop's Castle. Love the small town and wildlife all around! Three Sister's restaurant has wonderful food and a welcoming staff. I love, love, love this little town!!
