Everything was great! The location is really incredible, right between the mountains! Very quiet and cozy place. The hotel is pretty old, and this fact makes it even more authentic and colorful. Love it and would like to come over again.

If you like nature and wildlife viewing, going on scenic drive, then this is a perfect location. It is very close toYellowstone’s Lamar Valley and it is and end point (or start point) for Beartooth highway.

Just a place to stay while visiting Yellowstone National Park. Their uneducated views and hunting of wolves is disturbing. I wont stay or spend my money in the hotels/motels there that support the hunting of wolves.

Our Motel was fabulous.

Our Motel was fabulous. The town is very small but has a very nice feel about it being set in the Mountains. People were friendly. Loved the Beartooth Cafe. Great food! Fabulous family owned place. The drive into Cooke City through Beartooth Pass was incredible and worth every minute. Fabulous access into NE Yellowstone with very little traffic.

A more than century old mining town close to park, much cheaper than staying in the park. Small rooms in Yellowstone Park started at $400+. Much cheaper in Cooke City. Meals in Yellowstone Park are poor quality and expensive. You can visit several bars and excellent cafes in Cooke and Silver Gate, meals are still pricey but remember Cooke City is at the end of the road for supplies. We came for wolf (observed several feeding packs), saw moose, mountain goats, grizzly and black bear with 30 miles of our hotel so it was convenient to buy food and gas cheaper outside the park and be back in park in minutes. Park was crowded and overbooked so Cooke City was a quiet sleepy mining town that shuts down early so you need to order steaks early as they can run out on weekends. Bars are open fairly late; Silver Gate has a great 150+ yr old bar with summertime entertainment and food. Cooke City is a fun old town with buffalo and bears walking the streets after dark so keep your eyes open.

We rented side by sides and took them around the area which was incredible!! Highly recommend doing this, can’t beat the views and hidden gems! We were at the top of the mountain looking down at 6 different mountain lakes at once and then made it back down lakeside enjoying the views. The ride is rough at times but so worth it! And we saw a group of moose at the end of our ride!

The lodge is located right outside the park so was extremely convenient. The room was large with a view of the stream and the forest in the back. The hotel staff was very amiable and accommodating.

The manager was waiting for us outside the hotel when we reached late evening. in view of the power outage in the city he advised us to go to Cody and offered us a full refund.

Great location, 10 mins from the park. Good heating. Friendly staff. Bare in mind there isn’t much in Cooke City and groceries are very expensive because of this.
