A CHARMING, PICTURESQUE TOWN FULL OF INTERSETING 1900 AND COLONIAL ARCHITECTURE. LIFE CENTERS AROUND THE BEAUITIFUL LAKE. - ASIDE FROM THE BASEBALL CONCENTRATION, THERE IS A WONDERFUL ART MUSEUM, AND THE FANTASTIC GLIMMERGLASS OPERA FESTIVAL IN A FANTASTIC INDOOR-OUTDOOR OPERA HOUSE. THEIR SUMMER PROGRAM ALSO INCLDES CLASSIC AMERICAN MUSICALS. - I ATE A LOT AT THE BLUE MINGO, A RESTAURANT RIGHT ON THE WATER. INFORMAL AFFORDABLE FOOD WITH A GREAT VIEW OF THE LAKE.

Cooperstown is a nice little town, but the parking situation was atrocious, had to pay 4.00/hr. to park even though they weren't supposed to charge until Memorial Day. needless to say, couldn't stay in one place long enough without paying a meter. Other than that is was great.

The town is beautiful and easy to navigate.

The town is beautiful and easy to navigate. There are numerous attractions to visit, but it’s also a place where a person can sit and relax. Dining choices aren’t an issue as there are many different options. There are a lot of lodging choices available also. This was our third visit to Cooperstown, and we still haven’t visited everything. Visiting the Baseball Hall of Fame will take up a great deal of your time, but it is more than worth it if you love baseball. Just one floor of that wonderful place may take you several hours to complete.

We went to Cooperstown to see the Fenimore Art Museum...

We went to Cooperstown to see the Fenimore Art Museum exhibit of Calvin & Hobbes and to do some walking/hiking. The Art Museum also has a great Native American/Indian display. We hiked the Sleeping Lion trail in Glimmerglass State Park, the Star Field trail off Chicken Farm Rd, and the Clark Tower Trail off Beaver Meadow Rd. We recommend both Toscana and Bocca Osteria restaurants and the Stagecoach Coffee. The portions at Toscana are huge so be prepared to take some home. We enjoyed walking and seeing the architecture in town and also took a few bottles home with us from the Cooperstown Distillery. While most people go to Cooperstown for the baseball HOF, we enjoyed many other reasons to visit.

Main reason for visiting was to go the Baseball Hall of Fame, and it was so worth it! We spent 4 hours in there and enjoyed it immensely. We ate breakfast at the Doubleday Cafe and I would recommend. Food was great and staff very friendly! Spent some time at Sherman's Bar in the Hotel Pratt building and bartender was really friendly. We had our parking spot at the hotel which was nice. We didn't drive anywhere, just spent the weekend looking in the shops and people watching. Just a short walk to the lake which was beautiful! Would definitely visit again!

My husband and I loved the privacy and gorgeous views of our tent RR place. Dave, the owner was very nice and helpful and allowed us use of his ATV when our rental car couldn’t climb the steep hill to our tent. We stayed at a Tent RR in Vermont and it had warm bedding, but our Cooperstown location didn’t. Also we were charged an extra $100 for our stay and never found out why or got a refund.

I expected to have to climb two flights of stairs, as the listing indicated. I was pleasantly suprised when Tom, who was at the front desk, was able to provide us a first floor room. Though it is a historic building, the room was renovated in neutral tones, the bed was comfortable, amd the location is walking distance tp everything Cooperstown has to offer. What a gem!
