Only good thing about this stay was location.
Only good thing about this stay was location. Easy access to riverfront activities. The room was cramped and dirty. Receptionist on day shift was rude. An old man with colorful shoes stalked the hotel the whole time I was there. Breakfast was sad. Nothing was stocked, except the can biscuit gravy and breakfast cereal. The sausage and sausage patties were undercooked. Unmentionable type of stain barely covered over ceiling of bed. Charged ten dollars to park in their lot. Not covered parking just a lot inconveniently located across the street. I couldn’t access the front, because perfectly healthy customers blocked it for over a half hour.

There is too much construction going on in one spot. We had to keep turning around until we found the correct street to turn on to get us to our hotel. Especially at night, it was ridiculous!! I would not recommend staying in Evansville if you are traveling, go to the next exit and find a hotel!!

We drove through town.
We drove through town. All the old buildings were beautiful and looked to be well maintained. The River was full of debris, but that was due to forces of nature I suppose. Was not as I had pictured. Loved the River walk.

I've had several day trips to Evansville as it is the mid point between my home and Bloomington, where my children attended IU. I've met my kids here on the odd weekend to catch up. We mostly meet at one of the many restaurants on E. Lloyd Expy. It's a nice town with lots of shops and places to walk around. I recently stayed here one night on the way to Bloomington for graduation. Everything I needed was very close to my hotel, Garner Hotel. I had my evening meal across E. Lloyd Expy at Bar Louie and it was DELICIOUS... And cheaper than Texas Longhorn (my usual go-to eat place in Evansville). And when I realized I was missing my gift bags I was able to run to Walmart (just 5 mins from my hotel). Everything went very smoothly. I will most likely visit Evansville again.

The downtown walk is perfect, Los bravos use to be the spot but it seems to be getting not as good of quality food as before :(
Parlor doughnuts our stop for sure and Nellie’s breakfast place recommend it !

There was black mold in the bathroom. Dead bugs on the walls. A roach crawled across my bed. The bed was broke down in the middle and my neighbors smoked so much weed I could smell it in my room!
