On arrival I had paid in advance through Bookings but they...

On arrival I had paid in advance through Bookings but they did not have it. I showed the front clerk the bookings email being paid. Also showed my banks statement showing paid. I still had to charge the room again. Waiting to see if the Roadway Inn charge goes through. It shows pending at this time. The room was supposed to be non smoking, but it smelled of smoke possibly on the curtains. As I only stayed one night It was tolerable. The young woman at the front desk was very nice and tried her best to help with the charges. She co tasted her boss fir what to do and was told to charge again. The room was clean and good for the cost. The location was quiet and did not seem in a bad area. Actually abuts the police station parking g lot next door! Plenty of food and other convinces in the area without long drives the low cost and clean room makes this a good choice for a few day stay

This place is amazing! The hotel keepers were super friendly and helpful. Excellent location for biking new river trail. Gorgeous views of the dam from the back deck. Fries is a very sweet little town. I stayed with my husband and baby. We highly recommend Washington Inn!

Nice hotel and what I really liked was the chairs out side of our room . You can sit and watch the world go by. I also liked the fact that it is run by a nice American couple. It's also well located for the Blue Ridge Parkway.

The location is excellent and suited our needs perfectly. The breakfast was adequate - no better than one would expect from a hotel breakfast. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and eager to help.

Nice hotel. A little dated but comfortable bed, oversized room and everything you need for an overnight stay. Walking distance to the town with some restaurants and shops.
