What Guests Said About Gallipolis:

I actually was there for Point Pleasant.

I actually was there for Point Pleasant. Which is right across the river. A pleasant little town, with plenty of unique folklore. Such as The Mothman, and the legends of Chief Cornstalk, and "Mad" Anne Bailey. As well as a Revolutionary War battle. It is such a cool and beautiful small town. And well worth stopping to spend a day at. Especially for their new Cherry Blossom Festival, which I lucked into being there for the inaugural one. Or their Mothman Festival that is held in September. Galliopolis was just where the hotel was. I didn't see much going on there. Though it seemed to be a nice little town as well. Avoid the Super 8 there. Especially if you love animals. They claim to be pet friendly, but they canceled my reservation, when they learned I had a cat. Which was exactly what I did not need, after driving all day to get there. The Quality Inn, just down the street was wonderful. And had no problem whatsoever with my beloved Phoebe. Free breakfast and everything.

So close to Point Pleasant!

So close to Point Pleasant! So, if you want to do all of the Mothman stuff, it is just a quick hope over the Silver and Green Bridges and you are in the action! There is a cute little donut place that we will definitely go back to as well called Daylight Donuts.

This is a very small town with no good places to eat.

This is a very small town with no good places to eat. I would never come back to this area to stay. I would rather have driven further up to Chillicothe, which would have been another hour, but it would have been worth it to have a decent place to stay with some nice restaurants.
