Beautiful property in close proximity to Rocky Mountain NP. Very friendly front desk staff and perfectly clean rooms with a rustic mountain flair. We really enjoyed the jacuzzi after a day of hiking. Would book this property every time again!

Close to the downtown and to the grocery store. Close to Rocky National Park and to the Kawuneeche visitor center for my passport stamp. Cabin was quiet and cozy, perfect for two people. Heater works exceptionally well and we absolutely enjoyed the fire pit with the firewood that was provided.

Although Grand Lake has scenic beauty and a tremendous body...

Although Grand Lake has scenic beauty and a tremendous body of water, the downtown area lacks for good breakfast restaurant, would be my number one complaint. The places we ate some meals at were very good, but the price per item was over the top. We found that to also be true of the one gas station in town, and one of two grocery stores. Obviously being the last city before entering Rocky Mountain National Park, has it's advantages, and the commercial district sure does take advantage of it. Prices in the retail stores were outrageously high, for even the simplest item. I remarked to my wife after a stroll down Grand Avenue, and going into many of the local shops was,"these mechanist are really around of their mech, and they will probably get stuck with a lot of when it comes time to sell or close their doors!" Only one recognizable, nationally known brand was seen by us in the entire town, ACE Hardware. No Mac Donalds, no Dairy Queen, no Pizza Hut, no Wal-Mart, Waffle House, Walgreens. Looks like the town fathers banned business that could provide competitive pricing for their people.

This is a beautiful location with a cool town and friendly atmosphere. It's very laid back, has many different restaurant selections, and friendly staff everywhere you go. The town is just big enough to offer something to everyone, but small enough to feel very personable and comfortable. We experienced Rocky Mountain National Park, several great hikes, and good food and shopping! We loved the hike to Adams Falls and beyond, walking around the dock at Grand Lake, and the entire main street. The ice cream shops were awesome and plenty of variety! This was our first trip to Grand Lake and I anticipate many more trips in the future.

Rode horses at Winding River, visited the national park, spent time at the beach of the lake and rented a peddle boat, shopped at the very friendly stores, and enjoyed the afternoon rains. Had dinner at the Sagebrush, took out pizza from Grand Pizza, and ice cream from Miyauchi's. This is what Estes Park used to be like: a good town to visit but not crowded.

The visit to Grand Lake was day 3 & 4 of our journey from Albuquerque on motorcycles. Our goal was to visit Rocky Mountain National Park on Wednesday so this was the perfect location. Sagebrush BBQ & Grill was comfortable walk from Spirit Lake Lodge where the rest of my group was staying. Firefly pizzeria had great pizza and even made good leftovers on the second night. We still couldn't resist stopping by for some gelato on the second night.

I love Grand Lake (so much better than Estes Park).

I love Grand Lake (so much better than Estes Park). Very quiet, calm - yet has things a tourist wants like coffee shops, ice cream shops and restaurants. I go there for the hiking trails around. If you are looking for "night life" not your place, but I don't need that!

Grand Lake is one of Colorado's most precious gems.

Grand Lake is one of Colorado's most precious gems. It is the largest natural lake in the state and nestled amongst mountains and borders on Rocky Mountain National Park. For outdoors enthusiasts there is boating, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, and all the other water sports. You can also spend your day shopping, dining, and just enjoying the beauty of the Colorado Rockies! I took my two young grandkids (6-1/2 and 8) and they didn't want to leave. The trail ride at Winding River Ranch was their highlight. We also rented a tandem kayak and the got to paddle on the lake for the first time. The Grand Lake beach is small and buzzing with activity - family picnics, kids playing in the sand and in the water, neighboring boat and SUP rentals, snack bars, etc. - and all within just a few steps of the town's main street. Hiking along the Colorado River in RMNP was also a highlight. Highly recommend this beautiful town and lake.

We felt immediately at home, very spacious apartment with two bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and a big living room + kitchen. The view from the balcony was amazing, especially at the sunrise. The kitchen was equipped with everything and the bed was super comfy. The location is ideal, walking distance to the lovely Town of Grand Lake and close to the National Park. We will definitely come again!
