My wife and I are seasoned travelers who pass through this part of New Mexico every year. This time, instead of staying at our usual stop in Albuquerque, we decided to stop a bit earlier and try out this newly opened and renovated property in Grants — and we were not disappointed. Everything here is brand new, from the fridge to the mattress, bed sheets, and microwave. The whole place smells fresh and clean. The view of Mt. Taylor on the distant horizon was beautiful, and we enjoyed a nice hike the next day. We also had a good meal at the buffet next door, which made the location feel especially convenient and accessible. Highly recommended for anyone passing through.

Nice small town on Route 66 in NM. Close to El Morro and Malpais, Continental Divide Trail, and NM Back Country Discovery Route. The ride from Mesita to Grants is classic Route 66, a trip back through time.

Went right outside of Grants to dig at a local mine with an out of state gem and mineral society group event. The city of Grants is beautiful and amazing. The architecture is magnificent and stunning of the houses and some of the commercial buildings too. Plan on returning to Grants later this year hopefully.

Driving down the main street, I saw large satelite antennas painted to look like woven native baskets. It is a great use of materials that are often thrown away. And they make a stunning outdoor art statement about the town. Unfortunately, i was on a tight schedule and could not explore the town further.

Beautiful area to drive around in scenery was great.

Beautiful area to drive around in scenery was great. Also two national Monuments With very informative visitor centers. Wonderful hiking trails. Summer would have been a better better time to visit because the ice caves were closed when I went through this winter.

Unfortunately the town got forgotten when the highway went in. There are many boarded up and crumbling buildings. It seems they are trying to “revitalize” the downtown but they have a LONG way to go. Mount Taylor coffee shop located in an old filling station was a bright spot. Grants is a good location to visit the National Park sites in the area but I would stay at one of the hotels out by the highway next time.

This place is so far outside of Grants that it hardly warrants the address. But the room is fine, the bed wonderfully comfortable, and the motel is just 20 metres from a chinese buffet restaurant for dinner (to save you driving miles to find another place to eat). Breakfast is the standard minimal fare. My only complaint would be the very poor shower pressure. But good value for an overnight.

What a nice and authentic place to stay! I’m glad we were able to stay here more than one night. The hat was so lovely, he gave us amazing tips for different activities around Grants, plus this motel used to be a filming location :)

The bathroom was nicely updated. Our breakfast was the favorite of 3 hotels we stayed at in NM and AZ- kids loved the automatic pancake maker and the adults loved the breakfast tamales.
