Idaho springs is a cute little mountain town but there definitely is not a lot to do around there. I would say a two night stay is plenty of time to see and do everything that this town has to offer. We hiked to St. Mary's Glacier and did some shopping downtown our first day, and second day we did a tour of Phoenix Gold Mine, panned for gold and fed chipmunks. We ended the day by soaking at Indian Hot Springs.

We went there for Beau Joes pizza and to walk around to see the sites. Had to pay $5 for 2 hours of parking and refused to stay at H and H motel as it was awful looking and small for the money. The food was not good and we should have skipped this town. I was there 30 years ago and it was a much better place to spend the day.

Idaho springs is located on I-70 in the mountains west of Denver. This little hamlet has a history all the way back to the migration of people going to California for the gold rush. There is a natural hot spring in town as well. Overall, the town and area is just fun.

There are 2 rafting options in town, a gold mine you can tour and a vibrant main street area with shops and restaurants. The visitors center has a small museum to tour and get information on the area. A nice trail that takes you along the creek, past the falls and water wheel and park.
