I took the shipwreck cruise and the Pictured Rocks cruise...

I took the shipwreck cruise and the Pictured Rocks cruise the same day. The shipwreck cruise got me so excited to see more Pictured Rocks that I booked my ticket on the ride back to the dock! The town is small and easy to navigate. Everyone I encountered from gas station attendants to restaurant staff and gift shop employees was friendly. I got a veggie pasty from Muldoon's. They do takeout and I think you can buy them frozen to take home. They were sold out of the chicken pasties, so they must be good!

Loved that there is a lot to do that doesnt cost a lot.

Loved that there is a lot to do that doesnt cost a lot. We got to see many water falls and beaches that cost nothing. There are lots of trails to hike. I love love love! How dog friendly the area is. Eh! Burgers in munising is very tasty! We wished places stayed open later. Not a lot of late night choices.

We did 2 cruises, the sunken ship cruise was pretty cool if...

We did 2 cruises, the sunken ship cruise was pretty cool if you like stuff like that. We enjoyed it very much. It was very interesting. Kids that were in the boat seemed a bit bored, but it may not have been the best fit for their interests to begin with and then to add a 2 hour cruise that is slow probably just made it worse for them. We loved it. We also did the Pictured Rocks tour and that was beautiful. We chose to stay where you could stand up on the boat and we really loved it. Beautiful views! Our stay could have been a bit longer. I would have loved to do some more rock hounding or sight seeing, b ut it was a great trip!

the picture rocks tour was nice. the weather wasn't very nice, but that cannot be predicted. Dogpatch restaurant was very good with a great staff. ate there for breakfast and supper. several waterfalls nearby were nice to view as was Sandpoint beach.

The Pictured Rocks tour was fabulous.

The Pictured Rocks tour was fabulous. We gained an hour getting there the night before from where we live. We tried to get something to eat in town at 8:00p.m (which was 7:00 for us) and nothing was open that said they were on a Thursday before Labor day. Finding a place to eat was absolutely frustrating and had to settle for a fast food burger or a Gas station pizza place.....ugh. Closing kitchens at 8pm seemed out of the norm for us especially in a tourist city. With nothing much else to offer outside of a beautiful landscape we probably would not return anytime soon for something to do and see.

Plan your trip ahead.

Plan your trip ahead. If you're bringing your pet, check if the trails allow them. Some don't... The distance between the sites in the National park are far, make sure you have gas and plan which ones you'd like to hike. The best way to see the lakeshore is by water, it's a good experience overall but the lake can be rough so cancellations are frequent. If you like fish, this town is for you. Prices of food are cheap or reasonable.

The motel is a classic mid-century motel with plenty of parking. They even have a little area with a firepit and some chairs if you're trying to hang outside. It has a really cool, classic-looking neon motel sign too that's great for photos. The location is great as well, just a stone's throw from all that Munising has to offer and a short drive to Pictured Rocks for great hiking.

We liked the room and the bed, it was very clean and matress was good for sleep. We also liked that the hotel has multiple entrances, a door can be opened with a room card, it was very convinient. Sauna was a good bonus (it needs time to warm up, turn it on in advance if you plan to use it). Location is perfect, it is 10 minutes walk from the downtown and cruise location.
